In that case, something else is wrong on your LibreELEC.

Possibly a corrupted database or a failure of a HDD.

Editing the add-on's settings file is possible when you first stop the Kodi application, edit/save the file, and restart Kodi.

systemctl stop kodi

nano oesettings.xml

systemctl start kodi

You'll need to be in the correct add-on folder first to edit the xml file, of course.

I would also check first if the storage partition on the SDcard isn't in a readonly state with the Gparted tool, because settings not being saved is weird.

The "problem" with SDcards is that they are can be quite vulnerable. But power failure itself should not damage the SDcard unless Kodi was in the process of writing something to the SDcard at the time. But to answer your question: yes, there is a way. It's called restoring a backup, which unfortunately not everyone in computerland has always time for. They only find that out, after disaster has struck.

With power failures, it's impossible to know from the outside which part(s) are or aren't broken. Something in Kodi's databases can cause corruption which you only find out later.

if you can SSH into the RPi, and rename the .kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.libreelec.settings/oe_settings.xml file to something else temporary, and reboot LE, that should reset something.

I just tested my Intel box with LE 10.0.1 with suspend, and that worked as designed.

The suspend is most likely a Linux kernel thing AFAIK, but unless something magically happens in the upcoming v5.15 kernel, you're probably not gonna get rid of the suspend issue. It has happened before from time to time. The problem: both your devices are by now basically part of the prehistoric category. I myself still have a D525/Nvidia Atom device that is collecting dust now. With a SSD it can still be pretty nifty.

Your only workaround for now: just power down completely or let it run. LibreELEC really doesn't take long to boot up anyway. Or get some hardware that is more consistent with the 21st century.

The language thing is a work-in-progress.

I'd start with the latest stable version, 10.0.1, to get yourself familiar.

A remote control connected to USB, that sounds like a keyboard-operating remote. That wouldn't surprise me if only Kodi's volume got changed. What remote is it? Do you have specific options enabled to enable amplifier volume management?

Something changing from 10.0.0 to 10.0.1 can always happen, but with a minimum of details, problems are difficult to reproduce.

1080p/h264 and 4K/h265/hevc should not be a problem. 4K/h264 can be a problem.

Add-ons, sure. IPTV, not really my field of expertise.

We don't keep such a list, as everyone will have his/her own use case for the Raspberry Pi. It's just like asking what a certain car can or cannot do.

Perhaps you can better list the things that you do want a HTPC (RPi4?) to do for you, instead of the other way around.

You upgrade or downgrade all in the same manner: place the .tar file in the .update folder, and reboot.

Just know that Kodi isn't exactly downgrade-friendly.

An RPi does not restart via CEC from a full shutdown, AFAIK. But CEC is implemented differently on just about every TV. Most RPi users just leave the device on 24/7, the power usage is minimal during idle, some 2 Watts or so. Does your RPi have a casing of some sort, or is it just dangling open behind your TV?
