I am pretty confident it is an issue with the PCM output not conforming to what the receiver expects. The white noise occurs randomly when starting to play a video, but also occurs randomly if I switch the receiver on/off or switch inputs while a video is playing. This happens both with TOSLINK and HDMI audio.

As I said it never happens with passthrough, but that isn't helpful to me.

I am unsure if this is an issue with my specific S905X box or an issue that would show up with any S905X box and my receiver, or possibly something that could be fixed via the dtb. I have tried many different versions of LibreElec as well as building it from source. All versions from the past 6months or so that I've tried have had this issue.

The receiver I have is a couple years old Denon AVR-S500BT

Hi All, I am running last 8.2 on a box with led-segment display which is always show "boot" signal whether it on or off.

Is there any way, any switch which can turn it off when LibreElec turns off?

I managed it to work finaly. The LE I did nothing but turn of an on the AVR-s auto surround mode (so nothing changed in real) but it helped, every format is perfect 7.1

I've just installed 8.2 over 8.0.2e over update folder automatic process, then I changed the device tree to the new one.

Test videos shows the surround channels are mapped to the fronts (DD+, DD, AAC at least).

Is this local issue or do you hear the same mismapping too?

(MX64 2G/1Gbit, dtp is the 2G-1Gbit OTG version)

I wasn't able to test it properly so no update to OP yet, please install only if you know how to downgrade if anything goes wrong.

Changes include chapter skip/channel switch improvements from afl1, CEC improvement from GDPR-1, THD/Atmos fix, audio noise on boot fix, high bitrate video playback fix and backported Ethernet driver from Nougat kernel - Amlogic says in commit history that suspend should now work...

From ver g, include this ver i, YouTube videos with /1001 framerate via yt addon are switch tv set twice to freq mode.
Movies from nas work well.

With h version YouTube 23.976 video switch freq twice as in ver g.

1g is still the Best with my beelink mx64. Only one small mistake is YouTube player switch the freq twice. Regular movie play from nas switch once.

For me the new f version is perfect (mx64).
All the test videos with different soundtrack played correct (fhd, h265/h264, dd all, dts all, aac 7.1, all ferquencies).
Music files MP3 and flac all ok (16/24bit, 44-96-192khz, 2.0-5.1)
Iptv client works as intended for.

Another issue with dev-e-loper version. The auto fr switch works twice, when start the movie first and after few seconds again.
Do you have any similar?

I've tested the devel Version, picture quality, fr switch, gui speed is Best ever.
DD, DTHD, dts, dtshd is ok. Good news we got back dd+ (eac3 plus). Bad news we lost aac 5.1 as surround is mapped to the front.

Try downloading some dts or dd test filmes from Kodi websites. Check with sources which have proven multichannel tracks.

@ Kszaq I don't have the spdif option only. Whould it help if I upload the dtb of my box to see if there is a way to select only spdif? Or to turn off HDMI audio since its using the tv speakers and sound system speakers at the same time.
