    Hi again,

    thats basically what i did before. with v3 there is no lib folder anymore. but let me try with next Alpha update if it is working if it's just created :)

    sure, you can create it and it should work.

    By the way, what controller are you using in LE 9 alpha builds? I started using those builds, because of netflix addon, but in some point in may dualshock controllers started working in a weird way, so they can not be used in retroarch... I reported that bug in kodi forums but there is no solution until now... That's why I turned back to LE8 and I use my PS4 for netflix, HBO & amazon prime.

    chechk your config.txt to confirm this line is present:

    Code
    dtparam=audio=on

    also you can force HDMI out with these parameters:

    Code
    hdmi_force_edid_audio=1
    hdmi_group=1
    hdmi_mode=16

    You can take a look to these previous issues:

    If you use a RPi, did you try just downloading this zip and unzipping it into /storage/.kodi/addons/game.retroarch/lib/ folder? i worked for me in a couple of weeks ago build... But, everytime you update RA addon you need to copy it again.

    we are missing something...

    let's see, we are going to try it again following these steps, but before clean your ES and RA userdata folders (you can just rename them)

    First, you download latest addons from repo. After addon installation you go to RA addon settings and download full core package. Then you launch retroarch and launch a rom (Adventure Island (USA).zip) wit a core (fceumm). That works, right?

    Then you exit retroarch, and delete all logs. Ok, now you launch ES addon and it works, it shows the gamelist of your systems. Select the same rom (Adventure Island (USA).zip) and you get a black screen and ES comes back, right? Post me those logs.

    did you try with another rom? maybe unziped. Did you try another console emulator?

    Im your logs I can see this error:

    Code
    [INFO] [Video]: Does not have enough samples for monitor refresh rate estimation. Requires to run for at least 4096 frames.

    But I have no idea what can it means... do you use any overclock settings? maybe google can help us...

    Just to update...if i install both ES and RA on a clean install...download all cores from RA settings without opening the addon then ES works...but when I open RA it's not working properly...the logos are black boxes and it s not responding

    I think you are missing retroarch assets, they are copied into the right place after first RA addon launch. Also you can update/download them within RetroArch>settings>online updater

    My first problem is it looks like I have to download each core separately which I wish to use. That's fine but I can't find a single n64 core.

    You can download full lakka core package from addon settings window. They are the same as in previous all-in-one addon. There you can find mupen64plus core for N64.

    Secondly psx emulation use to work spot on in previous gamestarter version now on the new repo it's very slow fps to a unplayable point.

    If you use psx core from lakka full package and performance is still poor, maybe it is related with overclock settings in your previous SD.

    When downloading each core separately, they are downloaded from libretro's buildbot and sometimes they are not so stable.

    Hi, I have the same problem. Downloading and adding the lib to /.kodi/addons/game.retroarch/lib does not work.

    With LE 9 testbuild from 0909 & Retroarch addon 8.167.3 , I copy lib folder (with libass.so.5 inside) to /storage/.kodi/addons/game.retroarch using Kodi's file explorer. Then I reboot, launch retroach addon and it works.

    Any reason why Mario kart 64 (N64) the left and right controls dont work?

    No idea. Did you take a look in retroarch's core input options? in other games does it work ok?

    Will this addon be supported when Kodi 18 (Leia) is released? How will it differ from the inbuilt retro player?

    The idea is to keep on using/updating these addons with LibreELEC 9.

    About Retroplayer subject, when LibreELEC 9 will be releases we need to take a look to final retroplayer status, by now, at least in Raspberries, using retroarch have better performance since kodi is stopped. Also using retroarch you can use/toggle/config a lot of options and settings that by the moment are not available in retroplayer.

    Retroplayer will have no library integration in LibreELEC 9 as developer said so you will need extra addon as a frontend if you want your game collections as a library. You can use retroarch as a frontend with artworks and game lists. Better option is to use Emulationstation, one of the most used frontends for emulation. Or you can use AEL addon that is the best way to integrate your game library in kodi.

    Finally, retroarch addon is actually working with LibreELEC 9 testbuilds and you can use downloaded cores from retroplayer with it.

    On the other hand, in LE9 testbuilds dualshock gamepads have stop working properly and there is no solution at tshi moment so we have to wait until LE 9 beta releases to see how it is going.
