No need, HDR isn't supported under Linux.

Post the output of journalctl -f when you provoke a crash.

Try this in a terminal: sysctl -w vm.min_free_kbytes=65536
Just a theory as I don't know exactly how the kernel file cache works, but I'm guessing fast forwarding a 4k video at that speed might cause a lot of memory pressure. Adjusting the amount of memory to always keep free (default is 16MB) have been known to help in similar situations. The command above sets it to 64MB.

Although it's haswell-derived, that's a low budget Pentium and not a true Core CPU with AVX extensions.

That's not completely true either, as there's no decoder for Atmos I believe?

What exactly is the problem here? Used RAM? It's supposed to be used. Do you have a lot of used swap space, or does the kernel start killing processes because it can not allocate memory? If not, there likely isn't any problem. Sounds to me like this is just another case of misunderstanding how memory works.

If you do decide to go with Openelec be aware there is a problem in the current release and it won't install on a NUC. Install v8.02 and then let it upgrade itself to 8.04.
Also be aware that OpenELEC is pretty much dead at this time and the forum is a ghost town. Just look at the commit logs for each project they speak for themselves.

Through Docker you can containerize a base OS like Arch (what I used) then install pcsx2 and the 32-bit libraries it needs.

Post some logs from the samba logfiles share.

They're not geared towards anything specific, it's LE Generic with some version bumps here and there. What kind of bluetooth controller do you have? Is it an Intel 8265? Seems to be an issue with that chip.

It appears you have the same problem as cragmuer. You don't happen to have a NUC7i5BNK?
The message about the firmware shouldn't be an issue, it looks like it's decreasing the number until it finds the correct firmware file. There's a iwlwifi-8265-27.ucode in /usr/lib/firmware if you look. Also there's no higher number in the linux firmware tree.
You could give my "haswell" build a shot, it uses the 4.13-rc4 kernel so it has the latest and greatest drivers.

I'm getting the same. Compared with @chewitt's build and it's the same there. That said, it's always been hit and miss with asian subtitles for me, some time there's white squares then some times it works.
If you find a solution, let me know. Don't really know much about fonts.
EDIT: Following this gave me proper thai subs instead of white squares, so things seems to be working as they should.
