I unfortunately do not know when the new version will be available.

Pull requests are #2709, #2710, #2712 and #2713, all of which have been merged. Thanks to Obrekr librespot for LibreELEC now corresponds to master at librespot-org.

If you are impatient, you can build the addon from current master (for LibreELEC 9.0) or librelec-8.2 (for LibreELEC 8.2) branches.

Have my mediaplayer with CoreElec show up in Spotify as a Spotify Connect device and play back music.

In this case, do I have to install both server and client addon on my mediaplayer? Or do I have an error in reasoning?

I have submitted a pull request which fixes Librespot.

The corresponding addon will hopefully be available soon.

Librespot is broken for a while.

I will try to fix it this week-end.

In the meantime, you can se Snapcast to send Spotify to LibreELEC via AirPlay

I use Kodi for playback, Alsa doesn't work, no matter what playback device I choose.

I develop and test for the systems I have the time to set-up (RPi2 and Generic, sometimes Odroid_C2), and then assume it runs elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I do not have a CE capable system to reproduce, and you do not provide detailed information (version numbers, Kodi logs, librespot logs, etc.).

I use HifiBerry DAC+ with Librespot without issue. You will have to edit `/flash/config.txt` accordingly.

I paused development at librespot and LibreELEC for personal reasons, but expect to resume soonish. There is no current emergency though, since the Librespot addon is working as expected.

When I resume, I intend to merge librespot to the Snapserver addon (and drop the standalone Librespot addon) to provide a single more general solution. This also allows to use latest versions of librespot, which is rendered complicated by current Kodi hooks/patches.

I expect this rework to be quite comprehensive, ie build Rust from a package, build latest librespot with vendored dependencies, drop Librespot standalone addon, build latest Snapcast, add pulseaudio alsa plugins to snapclient, (try to) further simplify Kodi with Snapcast, Snapcast control from Kodi user interface, etc.

Find out the userid/password required to access the PC, and use them in Kodi.

Outdated is a term good for shirts and hairstyles. Newer in computers most often means only more new problems if nothing gets fixed from the older version. I do not see any good in newer LE versions. And this is my profession for many years now.

So, this will not work in LE7? I now have WG++ running on a server in a VM which is there for some other good reasons.

You can backport Mono and Webgrab+plus source from LibreELEC master to libreelec-7.0 and build it yourself, but you should not expect someone to do it for you.

Here, Snapclient starts with LibreELEC.

I am not aware that it is possible to install addons otherwise than through Kodi user interface, ie with the remote.

htop comes with the System Tools addon, which is a collection of programs which do not interface with Kodi. To use htop, ssh into LibreELEC and type htop.

Adding a Package [LibreELEC.wiki]

tinc uses and provides miniupnpc libraries. If you need more, eg the cli, you will have to build it yourself.

miniupnpc is already available here. You can adapt it to you needs.

If you want to connect to a LibreELEC device over the Internet, you can use tinc.
