The only device i plugged it in other then my windows is system is my LG55C7 TV.
So you plugged the hard drive into the LG TV ?
Can you mount the hard drive in any LE Box ?
I was lucky it mounted on my TX7.
If you can use file manager to delete any strange files you see.
I'd say the TV may have inserted a file for its reading of the hard drive and caused this.
Really guessing here. Only because i deleted files on my hard drive and it mounted.

This may not be a solution but symptoms are similar.
Just out of curiosity, since the remote turning on doesn't work, what do the people generally do for turning the boxes on/off?
Has anyone tried SSH on Rock64 nightlies ?
I'm on 3rd May 2018 version and only tried for the first time to SSH into box but failed.
Turned Firewall settings "OFF" still no go.
Update: I did fresh install as I've been updating since RB Leia 24.

Don't get impatient with SBC hardware not having a fully working OS.
The reason they are cheap is they are development boards.
I use the android-7.1-rock-64-rock64_atv-v0.3.13-r115-raw.img which is very stable on eMMC.
I test the LE nightlies SD Card and yes they are unstable
BUT the picture quality on my 1080p TV is absolutely amazing compared to any Amlogic device i have ever owned.

Kwiboo i test the nightlies with good and bad results between versions. (Rock64)
The one issue which persists in all versions is with TVHeadend Client.
My GUI is set to 1080p 50hz for AU Live TV.
Live TV Opens but when i stop the stream there appears to be an Adjust refresh rate attempt followed by Black screen and no response using remote.
If i change GUI to 1080p 60hz stream opens and when i stop there is a refresh rate change back to 50hz no issue.
Anyway just letting you know. A bit frustrating not knowing what all these nightlies are up to. 
Great Picture on my movie library files. Best picture i've ever had from any box i've ever had.
I noticed however that from the system panel the build does not see the internal memory;
Have a read [HOWTO] Boot from SD card, use internal memory for data
Edit: found another issue. Sometimes, e.g. In YouTube plugin, if I click on a video it seems the tv goes out of sync (no hdmi signal) for a fraction of a seconda, then everything goes fine & smooth.
That may well be adjust display refresh rate changing to match video. Not an issue.

By looking at that box it looks a lot like the K1Pro s905D same Gigabit Ethernet and ram.
The Tuner ? No idea.
Make sure you followed the steps including renaming of the k1pro device tree before copying and pasting after burning to sd card.

I just installed Android TV version Android-7.1-rock-64-rock64_atv-v0.3.13-r115-raw.img to eMMC and fresh SD Card RB LE 24
It BOOTED LE via SD card with the eMMC inserted.
Lots of errors after boot up screen. Sometimes boots with no error notifications but FREEZES within 30 seconds.
Kernel panics etc. Pulled out eMMC and boots up with no freezes or errors.
Main thing is it boots.
Save this for the official release.

Set your resolution to 1920 x 1080p.
In settings activate Adjust refresh rate.
In your box u-boot starts in 720p mode, LE is trying to use it causing unsynchronised picture.
You can verify and fix via setting environment variables 'hdmimode' and 'outputmode'.
ssh into your box and run below commands (first code to verify, the second to set).
See how you go. Sorry i don't have your hardware but can only advise on the little knowledge i have with this issue.

Pulled out the EEMC and LE Booted first run. Fresh SD Install.
I powered off . Inserted EEMC Powered on with SD Card still inserted and the Black Screen of death.
Anyway that's where we're at with this scenario.
See what happens.
I'll hang in there with LE developments but i just needed to test how Kodi stable works on my First Rockchip board.
I tested the TV Headend Client MPEG2 streams and saw the Hardware Acceleration being used in Android so i see there is hope in future LE for these boards.

I also had the stock Android running if SD Card was inserted which didn't run real well using SD card. (Slow As)
I then installed Android Stock to EEMC and it runs very well.
I then burnt your Leia 24 to sd card and inserted it to the Rock64 and powered up.
Black Screen , Nothing.
Is it not possible to boot via SD Card with your builds if EEMC is inserted with Android or am i missing something ??
Also there are no settings in player for HW acceleration. So i can’t turn of hw acceleration.
Turning off Hardware Acceleration on a Rock64 would cause playback issues and certainly overheating and shutdown.
Software decoding is currently used for SD MPEG2 (480/576i mpeg2 content) for the obvious current limitations and that causes temperatures to rise into the 80c zone.
My Rock64 does lock up and freeze decoding 575i mpeg2 streams as a TVHeadend client playing TV channels.
I've monitored the temp using wrxtasy 's temp monitoring ssh method and it happens at the high 80c.
Doesn't always happen. Normally sits at mid 75c when playing 575i but on the odd occasion it does happen.
After the freeze i unplug replug and it sits at mid 70c.
