There are no Libre or Core Elec builds for the shield. You need the Android version of Kodi.
I tried import export, from an android to ELEC device, it didn't work. Perhaps I did something wrong, but I don't think they are compatible, but you have nothing to lose.
try using a usb to sd card adapter
Betatester has said he has no problem, so upload to the CE remote thread.
Ah, but I know about that one, but it say's its for AMlogic (S905, ....)
I actualy ask in my post if there is a post like that for the Rockchip (RK3xxx) chip one's ?
Is there a post like that ?
or should I add the rockchip one in the AMlogic thread ?
I have asked the maintainer, Betatester if he thinks or wants it to be added. I'll get back to you when he lets me know.
Aperantly we where working on the same problem at the same time
With alot of help from forum user SpikeSP87 , I was finaly able to create a working remote file for this box with libreelec.
(when I say create, I mean I just typed everything SpikeSP87 told me to type step by step )
It was alot harder than for my two other boxes that have AMlogic S905 chips.
My box and remote :
Put rc_maps.cfg in the /storage/.config folder
and put rem.txt in the /storage/.config/rc_keymaps folder
reboot, and presto it works,
My box has one weird thing tho, even when not mapped to any command , when I press the blue VOL+ button my box just instantly completely shuts down , not even the normal "kodi shut down spinning circle first" it is just a hard power kill
I wonder if that is just my box or a problem with all these model boxes on libreelec ?
this is why the normal volume function in my file is mapped to the TV VOL- and TV VOL+ buttons, but you can remap this for your needs afcourse.
I hope it helps anyone,
P.S. is there a remote files depository somewhere for these rockchip boxes I can upload it to ?
I know the coreelec forum has something like that for the AMlogic boxes they use.
CE Remote Repo please can you follow the instructions in which way to add to thee repo. Thanks For your contribution
Is Cinema HD legal?
Is it against this Forums rules regarding piracy?
In this link https://mega.nz/folder/HskzhZRY#lyIxBd51cCMbbwZMNXkmuA under library, are instructions to create your own. I don't think there are any RK remotes in the repo.
I see the ipaddress starts 169.254 this means there is no connection to the internet.
I found a few things via google to try to sort this out
I don't understand logs
Install TVH server. Then install the client, I never use the default ip, I use the ip of the client device, I also use a simple user name admin & 4 digit password.
On a web browser type ip address :9981 can you see the tuners? if not you need to change the drivers.
Hi, I'm looking for good conversation.
How can i change ordinary tv to smart tv?
Do i need any device. kindly send me the link too where i can get ?
I suspect you are after an Android tv box
this is a libreelec forum
Personally, I would try a LE install to a usb, & run from that. That would be the easiest. You can then try linux + kodi to hard drive, if you don't like that, you can go back to the LE on usb.
I have a X96 Max+ not with LE, but the other one. I installed netflix with no problems. I have a usb tv tuner, so have a tvhead server & client running.
I also have an HD homerun with that server running on my nas.
I used to use zomboided for a vpn manager, but I don't use it anymore.
I have tried jellyfin with docker but gave up. Have used Plex addon but uninstalled that.
I have tried to install mysql, but not had much luck, I might try again when I get my new nas this week.
I found an addon called onmute, which means with the volume right down, subtitles show up, useful if watching tv late at night.
I know this is not a solution to your question, but I don't really understand why you don't use a small usb for booting, & the 8TB usb separately for storage.
What happens, if you get it all up & running the way you asked, & you need to upgrade, do you have to start again repartitioning?
perhaps you should just rip the disks to hard disk. try makemkv
