It looks like the S/PDIF output might do what you want if you want to use that for now, but it won't fix your problem really as you won't be able to have DTS-HD and TrueHD over S/PDIF.
I don't know if the kernel module will enable HDMI audio or not (or if it's even possible to build the kernel module for LE).

Pulseaudio won't do you anything if alsa isn't working, so don't bother with that.
Can you get me a kodi debug log when you have everything connected and powered on.
Edit: looks like we might need this Porting the DisplayLink Ubuntu driver to other Linux distributions – DisplayLink Support

I mean the device doesn't seem to provide enough bandwidth to sustain an audio stream.

The internal Bluetooth on the RPi3 is really weak. You should try using a USB Bluetooth dongle if you can and disabling the on board Bluetooth.

For some reason it is picking up your nvidia nforce chipset as a graphics adapter.
You will have to modify the udev rule for it to work. I can post the steps later.
Then hopefully we can get it running for you and I'll get some more logs from you so I can fix this bug.

Raspberry Pi doesn't support poweroff/wakeup. You have to have it running all the time.
You can disable it powering off in the cec peripheral menu.

Hmm, no audio on movies and live tv though. Music is fine.Any ideas?

Docker is available as an addon in the LibreELEC add-ons repo.

This has nothing to do with lirc

You have to modify the manifest.xml file, see the kodi package.mk file

That seems like a really weird resolution, are you sure that's correct?

Most of the time that error is just a red herring and the wifi will actually connect if you try it again.
-
Most likely you have a kernel and system mismatch.

You will have to manually fix it now by replacing the kernel.img and SYSTEM files on the SD card.

tvheadend or vdr. I would stick with tvheadend.

Can you test with a recent milhouse build? That hardware is very new.
