hello, i ve been some days offline, now i see many new messages about freezing issue, just send that devmem command via ssh but not sure if i did right, shoud i expect any feedback message after sending it?, do i need to re-enable CEC in settings?

Im not sure if my old tv (13 years old or so) is CEC capable, i see an option in settings "HDMI information display" but dont know what is this about, however i set it off days ago with no changes.

hello, lockups still happening, sometimes playing vodeo otjers when tv is off for several time.

the freezes happend quite less times than before disabling CEC, but still happening.

btw, im confised because my tv is so old, so i think it wont understand about CEC.

other thing detected is that ethernet connection is lost 2 of every 3 lockups after forcong reboot with a power cycle, then a second reboot is needed to recover ethernet conn. and even some times it requieres a second power cycle to get wired conn. working.

    thanks, I tried 2 things:

-DRM prime: off, HW:off = video stuttering, like slow-motion.

-DRM prime: on, HW:off = same as with my RPI3b+, unable to handle HEVC so only sound, no video.

however i have to say this is not really bad or very annoying (to me so far) because only occurs from time to time, last saturday I detected 4 freezes, yesterday nothing happened... for me is better to "live" with this small issues than not been able to play many videos or waching them in poor quality with de RPI3b+

    thank you again.

hello, running new orange pi3 lts since some days and i have seen random freezes.

I m 99% sure that this happens only with h265 videos and this can happend 2-3 times in a 120-150min streaming movie, lest say one freeze every 40-50 min or so.

Temperatures are usually below 50 celsius and free RAM normally its about 50-40%, even less if no buffer setting has been done.

I tried to do search about this isse but nothing (only old posts) so, may be I need to do some configuration or any setting to libreleec or kodi?, I tried to use different buffering settings (ROM, RAM, no buffer...), video HQ rescaling and render mode with no sucess, sudenly and ramdomly image freezes and sound enters in a fast loop, only power off/on can be done.

    cheers.

hi there, just arrived my OPi3 LTS, librelec running fine and quite fast from EMMC, it was pretty easy to do. now kodi runs really much faster than RPI3b+ and YEEEEEESSSS now i can play h265 that was annoying me a lot this lasts days, more and more streaming video use this codec than RPI3 can not play...

Just to mention one thing, trying to install one addon OPI3 crashed, nothing that worried to me, this things happends sometimes when installing "things", well, turned PS off then on again and... nothing happened, no power led, just the heatsink fan spinning... tried again a couple of times with no successs, then I get worried hahahaha, disconnected everithig (my external HDD, mini keyb receiver and HDMI cable) and it boot again normally.

Ive been testing a few times, and for sure it wont boot when hdd is connected just to the USB 3 port (supossed to be the upper one of the two blue ports), after moving HDD to lower/other port its booting fine and really fast.

May be insufficient power supply power to boot USB 3 power + board at same time ? (its a 3A Aliexp. PS), or may be some issues with this port when booting?, I dont know, but i think HDD will draw same current amount when plugged in USB 3 than USB 2. However that doesnt concerns much to me, using USB 2 is not critical to me because I only use HDD to play some movies/series i like to keep there.

BTW, heatshink from AliExp I purchased its really bad designed LOL, need some work on it, thermal pads are as thicker than a cushion because heatsink can not belowered more than those components arround de PMU chip, same for the USB-C conn, it doesnt allow heatsink to go closer to the CPU, RAM and EMMC chips, great design work... however max temp I have seen for now its 53 celsius, so nothing to worry about running librelec for me, so far...

    thank you your support.

hello, Im waitting for a Orange Pi 3 lts to arrive, i think its time to retire my RPi3 b+... Ive been reading about this OPi3 to become familiar with installation procedure etc...then and read I can use OPi3 EMMC to put libreelec there, but Im concerned about de 8Gb capacity, as i understand its "enough" to run LE, but recommended SD cards point to 16 or even 32gb, so, will it be "worthwhile" to run libreelec over EMMC (faster than SD) against, lets say, run it with more avaliable space (32 or 64gb) and a fast SD like sandisk extreme pro A2?, will 8gb limit LE someway?

excuse my english, i learned by myself

    thank you.

    Hey,

meanwhile, i have the problem with the recognition of the hdd sporadically. (Every) After the repair under Windows it works again.

    Vers. 11 - fresh installation...

I have no idea what could be causing this

hi. yes, same here, but the issues came suddenly this last days, no issues before and since 11.0.0 installation, it made me to move HDD to windows and check a couple of times (no errors found), after that no more issues, working fine for 1 week or so. ghosts? 8o

Boost your power supply. When I use my compact USB drive which doesn't have it's own power source, I need at least 2.5 amps of power in order for the Pi to power-up the drive.

hi. pi3 has been working till now with matrix and the HDD with no issues. i do not think the problem cames from PS. PS its up to 3Amps and never saw the "low power ray" on screen with this 3A PS (i saw it with 2Amps earlier PS, for that i moved to 3Amps), however, drive is running because i can hear it spinning. thank you.
