K. So LE consumes the same as android? Don't think so..
It's a kodi setting. The amount of free ram will be different in android and LE, but the amount used by the buffer (ie the 3x calculation) is the same.

If the hub would work for my drives would kodi recognise them as two separate drives and would I still be able to add content from both of them to my library?
Yes and yes. That should work.
advancedsettings.xml are part of the piracy terms?
No. And nobody's said so.
We are talking about the new raspberry pi 3 B+. Your post is not relevant for that at all...
According to the raspberry pi foundation it comes with 'Gigabit Ethernet over USB 2.0 (maximum throughput 300 Mbps)'
They do use the term 'faster ethernet' - but doesn't that just mean faster than the standard pi3?
Display MoreWhere are located these addons? They all are installed by Bello 6 skin?
xbmc.gui
script.skinshortcuts
script.skin.helper.service
script.extendedinfo
service.library.data.provider
script.skin.helper.widgets
All are found in storage/.kodi/addons
Hmm, I tried it with various skins, so I assume it is disabled on some lower level...
Tried what exactly?
I know. But sometimes I want kodi to simply restart without needing to fully reboot the box. Will have a closer look at osmc to get this secret information.
systemctl restart kodi
I run that from a shortcut on my phone using ssh button (android app).
If you want it in the kodi exit menu take a look at DialogButtonMenu.xml for the skin you use.
Or add via favourites to work in any skin. You'll need (I think) to write a simple script to execute the command, and link to that script.
I think he means u-repo's banned here. AFAIK that's never been stated before but it is banned on the kodi forum. Nothing to do with piracy, rather politics / a personality.
Yes. Not sure whether the recent samba changes might cause issues in the latest (8.2 and onwards) versions, but I use pi's in my car like that - play music / audiobooks via the car stereo controlled by yatse, watch videos (or rather mostly others do) on android tabs via smb. I connect a bunch of (independently powered) portable drives to the pi for video on long trips, music is on a usb stick.
You could try this (to restore just skin settings):
1 Get your skin settings - move the backup to a pc, extract the contents (I use 7zip in windows, but whatever) and find kodi\userdata\addon_data\skin.xyz\settings.xml
if your skin is using other dependencies you might need addon_data from those too (eg skin helper service) To check look in kodi\addons\skin.xyz\addon.xml.
2. Stop kodi - run 'systemctl stop kodi' via ssh
3. Copy relevant files from backup into storage/.kodi/wherever - rename the existing files so you can roll back if necessary
4. Cross fingers
5. Start kodi - 'systemctl start kodi'
A revo 3700 will run libreelec generic (64-bit) - but it will still choke on x265 (and I'd guess on 4k as well).
Agree on the S905 boxes - I retired 2 r3610s and replaced them with S905s.
2. Any comments on setting "default" Skin?
Switch to confluence (default) in oe 6.
Update to LE8 and you'll find yourself in estuary (new default).
Let addons update and switch back to arctic zephyr.
If you're using a pi you won't find it. x86 only AFAIK.
Display MoreZero help. But thanks for your input.
I think that Libreelec is mostly used by people who reuse old hardware.
If delelopers think otherwise - then this project is already DEAD (or in active process of decaying)...
IMHO...
With new HTPC I would never go for such a limited system (OS only for KODI),
WINDOWS+KODI would be the choice!
Anyway if anybody used USB Ethernet Adapter with x86 libreelec build - I would appreciate your input with specific models successfully used.
Thank you!
As someone who uses Libreelec on old and new hardware and wouldn't touch windows with a bargepole for HTPC use I'd just like to say:
Wow.
Your question was answered btw:
'...in practice there are only 2-3 usb ethernet chipsets in use and the drivers for those are included.'
Copy the skin to /storage/.kodi/addons and make your changes there.
If I want someone to look at my log I'm going to make it as easy as I can for them - and that means using a paste site, not expecting them to download and open files. And if I'm reading a thread I'm much more likely to click on a paste than download a file.
It's not you. Just checked and I get the same error, which I guess is a problem with the sprunge.us site (it worked an hour ago).
It's just a paste site, though, you can link to any.
eg if I stick 'blkid' in putty and hit return I get some text back. Select that and copy with ctrl-c, go to pastebin.com, paste the text and hit 'create new paste' and I have:
