I just got Tanix TX3 Mini TV Box from Gearbest. It came with different Wi-Fi chip sv6051p. Wi-Fi works with LibreELEC-S905.arm-adamg-1.0.8, remote doesn't work. With LibreELEC-S905.arm-adamg-1.1.0 build Wi-Fi doesn't work, but remote is working.

Thanks for your bug report, I'm uploading a new version now which will fix this.

Because of the the rework some things where changed and wifi drivers was one of them.

Thanks adamg for the latest build.

Unfortunately, it appears that hardware decoding is not available. I have hardware acceleration turned on but only software decoding is used.

Apologies for this I will correct it shortly.

All, I to am having stuttering issues when streaming uncompressed Blu ray quality video across my network via SMB, ) I have a gigabit lan, source box is a Minimx s905 running Kszaq 8.2.1.2 (RJ45 interface 1gbit), I thought I might try changing to nfs, unfortunately the guide on the Openelec wiki has now been taken down, (this seems to be the go to guide for setting up nfs on Libreelec) can anybody recommend another good source of info. sorry if this is not the correct thread but I have read that some of you guys have switched from SMB to nfs.

kszaqs thread would be best if you are using his build, NFS is supported out of the box with LE, you need either a NAS or linux box to run an NFS server.

It's (smb) like an old diesel, it works, but you'l always be driving in the slow lane;)

That's so not true if you have ever driven a remapped diesel like mine then they are anything but slow 😀

I never mentioned that I using Gbit connection :) my box (Mecool M8S Pro+) only has a 100 Mbit interface, but that should be enough for all regular 4K content.

My main concern why I got only around 30 Mbit speed ?

The problem is Samba, these CPUs can't handle much, I don't know what theme or add-ons/services you have running in the background but it all adds to the CPU overhead, If you check Kodi stats it's constantly munching 30-40% on a bare install, add CIFS too the mix and it doesn't help, iperf also uses the CPU to generate data, NFS is your real only solution I'm afraid.

As for upload that's because your reading data your not writing it to the buffers, those advancedsettings are too much as well.

dc-fix is adhesive foil - You can get it in many colours.

I use a little piece black foil, put it on the LCD - that´s it.

I don´t want to look at the "boot" message running LE and I don´t need to show the time running Android.

I don´t want any driver in LE to support this useless gadget - may be there will be some other issues or side effects like hyperion problems ....

It's not useless when you have a countdown showing you the remaining time left on whatever you are watching :)

I think it will be possible to support this box, logs will not help unfortunately with this issue, physical access to one of the devices on the other hand would, it's somewhat of a headache feature to support as it requires a lot of testing which isn't practical to do remotely.

This is the driver I would like to use, the problem is the DTB, it will have to be custom made for each display which is different which is where the testing issue comes into play, it will be does it display as desired, if not try again, repeat, repeat, repeat.

For the tanix box the manufacturer compiled the LCD driver against kszaq kernel specifically for us and provided us with the modification to the DTB so it didn't require too much work from our end.

At a guess I would think the problem is the Samba share, it adds a CPU overhead, I'm not sure what to suggest as ideally I would suggest NFS shares but you can't do them on Windows. You could try setting up an ftp server, there would be less overhead with that.

Thanks, Adam, this is perfectly fine and I am looking forward to your upcoming releases.

One question though: when you (and kszaq and CvH and whoever else) talk about porting S905 stuff to master, does that mean just S905 or S905X (and mybe even K) as well?

My hope is for everything to be supported, the changes are slowly being accepted into LE but there is some resistance to my efforts in that some developers see no future in Amlogic being supported for a variety of reasons and it is taking much longer than I would have liked due to this fact, not everybody is against it but with key people within LE not reviewing my pull requests it doesn't exactly help.

Just a quick one. I updated from 1.0.5 to 1.0.8 and now the Netflix plug-in(0.12.7) won't work any more. It seems that the widevine lib is missing. I get:

    Code
    00:18:11.272 T:3692032912 NOTICE: Creating InputStream
00:18:14.566 T:3692032912 ERROR: AddOnLog: InputStream Adaptive: Unable to load widevine shared library (/storage/.kodi/cdm/libwidevinecdm.so)
00:18:14.566 T:3692032912 ERROR: AddOnLog: InputStream Adaptive: OpenDRMSystem failed

    in the log file.

Everything was working before the update. My box is Mecool m8s pro+.

I will try some things and report back. Anyone else had problems with Netflix after update?

I fixed it! I had to re-install libwidevinecdm.so and it started to work again. I used the script from asciidisco's installation instructions for the Netflix plugin.

I had to remove the precompiled binary from community builds as it was against the forum rules to include it for legal reasons, I included a script with the build to automatically download it but this will fail if your box fails to get an IP address within 30s of booting up.

GDPR-2, thanks for your work. The 1.0.8 version works very well on on of my boxes and after the feedback on 1.0.9 here I guess I will wait with the update :/

However, since I saw the above post of yours, I thought I would give your 1.0.9 build a try just to see whether I would see anything on my LCD. Unfortunately, nothing shows up there. Do I need to configure something or is the LCD support really just for the TX3 Mini and not for my first ever china box (which meanwhile even has kszaq 's build on EMMC after yesterday's release of the slowemmc device tree ...)? :(:?::)

I will do another update shortly to fix issues raised, I had not pushed the changes yet for the LCD on the TX3 mini however I will try to do this on the next release, I have been so swamped with work and also porting S905 directly into master that I really haven't had time for the community or community builds, things should be back to normal again after Christmas is out the way and normal updates will resume then.

On another note I have removed 1.0.9 from the server

    Hi afl1,

you are right, if you already have installed TVH Client on the box it will work. But it is not possible to install the TVH addon again, if you have uninstalled it before. You only get a message "The dependancy on kodi.binary.instance.pvr version 5.7.1 ..."

Also the inputstream addons are marked as if I could update them. If I try to update them i get the message "The dependancy on kodi.binary.instance.inputstream...". Never had this before after an update.

Binaries need updating on the server, this is the problem with master things always change

/Sorry for bug in disk label. kszaq did upstream changes in renaming disk volume name from LIBREELEC_DISK to STORAGE. I'll fix it in next build.

There is more changes incoming soon that will probably break your repository, this wasn't kszaq fault, I argued for it to be kept as is but others in the community wanted it to be changed as part of the upstreaming S905 process.

My main problem with these builds is that my favourite skin isn't compatible :p

Other than that, I haven't found any major problems compared to kszaq's 8.2.x.x versions.

Your not the only one here my favourite theme Arctic Zephyr is also incompatible.

    wrxtasy

My box (Vorke S6) has an LCD panel on the front, where, in Android, the time and other symbols. like if an usb is plugged, etc. are shown.

Do you know its driver or how you manage it, so in LE, an useful message can be displayed on it? Currently, only "boot" appears...

    Thanks!

The instructions from wrxtasy wont work for this box however on that note, I have got this working on the S905W however its still in early stages of testing, it needs changes to the dtb/kernel module/userspace binary/kodi script.

That is actually my main device as well (as you can see from my signature) :). Playing around with these china boxes is really just the next step of toys after Dockstar/Pogoplug, Cubietruck (two running as headless PVRs, one with VDR and one with TvHeadend), Rpi3, Wetek Play etc. Every year in December/January I obtain new toys to play around with that I find in some forums, but (as yet, anyway) never in development, always just as a user. Currently, I am fascinated by the china boxes in conjuction with the XBOX ONE Tuner, as this is a really inexpensive way of usiing LibreELEC for both streaming and LiveTV. Nevertheless, I own quite a few Sundtek Sticks (so much for budget ...), so I would really like to be able to use those.

Anyway, thanks to you (and all the other active developers) for making it possible for users like me to play with our toys! I do hope that you also profit from donations made to LibreELEC

I didn't see that, you can't get any better than the Shield, the chinese boxes are good as basic mediaplayers, my own opinion is that you can't expect miracles from $30 devices but anything extra that works is just a bonus, support is expanding slowly, bug reports and the community helps with this.
