It would be really convenient to be able to control monitor brightness via the remote. I don’t use a TV, but my PC monitor which does not have one. There is a tool called ddcutil which is capable of doing that.

Sometimes I can't open the configuration Add-on. I have to reboot quite a few times until it works.

I can't open some section in the Arte Add-on. I already searched for the Github page of the Add-on, but couldn't find it. I have the notion that this is a Matrix issue in general as I have problems with many Add-ons.

I can't wrap my head around this. Udemy has not been updated in over a year. The only component that gets upgraded is the Widevine package. I tried out all old Widevice version, but without success. The error messages have been changing from python errors

Again, the Udemy Add-on has not been updated the whole time. Does this mean that there are being some internal changes made to the Udemy website? Also sometimes at least the intro video of the course works, but then all others fail.

Where are the files located that contain the library entries? I want to ssh and clean them manually. Already tried to remove all files in .kodi/userdata/library/video/ but it didn't work

It is not about the addon, it is about the way samba shares a accessed in the Unix shell. You enter smb://username:password/path and that should not be visible in the popup.

I have a NAS storage where I save my films on. When I am downloading films with e.g. Covenant, there is a popup that displays the whole link to the NAS storage including the password. It would be really nice, if this could be starred out, because I don’t want all of my friends to know the password. I am on Aeon Tajo btw. Maybe it is only shown here, but I think the addon is not to blame here.

Okay, stupid me. How in the world is the Raspberry Pi going to control the Backlight of my monitor? It is impossible unless there is an interface for it. Changing the contrast and brightness in software is not going to be satisfying.

I already stumbled over this thread that says brightness should be controlled by the TV. The problem is that I use my PC monitor and controlling brightness without a remote control is tedious. Therefore I would highly appreciate having the option to control brightness. There should at least be a way to enable brightness control again. As far as I've been reading all of this has been existing for years.

I have been searching a lot on the internet. In this thread from 2017 they say there is a setting inside the skin's settings, but I can't finde it. I could also locate the settings.xml in the folder skin.estuary, but there is no option.

I've been experiencing frequent blackouts lately and been trying out a lot of settings. I think it is caused by setting the number of video buffers to 3. I just set it to two and it hasn't happened for a while. If so, this setting should not be available on the Pi4. I will keep you up to date!
Well, it still happens, but I think it got less frequent. I've tried many things. I've set over_voltage=4 and checked the cpu temperature and cpu load. Everything seems normal.
Any ideas?
