Everything is working besides: wifi, hdmi sound, hw video codecs

Check the lan cable. change ports on the router. Boot into android and check if it works there.

any idea of the wifi chip in your box? . use dtb accordingly (if its realtek) , use 20 mhz( not 40) and channel 11 . make sue ur box is not behind the TV. is it a clean install or upgrade? if u have another SD card plz try with older firmware (i.e Jarvis). check the rating on the power brick as well. like i said lots of variables. wouldn't want to be in ur shoes right now.

I have the same box with Ap6212 wifi chip . It works gr8. no issues. reboot the router and check, Try using a static IP and TKIP encryption instead of AES or vice-versa on your router. There are too many variables when it comes to WIFI including the placement of router and box.

To keep life interesting????
I have a mini m8s-II S905X box and i am using this LibreELEC-S905.arm-7.0-devel-20170430185848-r23797-g7772046.tar | openload. In my opinion it is the best of both worlds . Picture Quality and playback is good. Give it a go and see whether it works on ur Box

Hi all
I managed to build 7.0 012g inside an ubuntu yakkety chroot on my gentoo.
It was not 100% straightforward but no major obstacles. I needed to adjust 3 minor issues.
here is the image
LE – Google Drive
I am using this build with great success on my Mini M8S-II 2G /8G Box. I am reluctant to move to LE 8 as there are a lot of bugs to be ironed out.
Everything works great. Thanks a lot. I want to try deluge instead of transmission . I know thoradia has developed it. but it is only for LE8. Will it be possible for you to develop deluge as an addon for your above Build. Just a request. if it is too much effort , then forget it. I will be using 64 Bit for as long as you keep building them. Thank you in advance. -
Doesn't seem to work in Confluence on Kodi 16, but it is working great in Kodi 17 w/Estuary. Thanks for the solid tutorial! If you can edit the title to the post, it would be good to include something along the lines of "dark s905x HDR startup workaround" in there. Would probably get more eyeballs on it, and be easier to find in searches if/once it falls off the main page.
It works in confluence on Kodi 16. I can confirm. Good Job!!!!!

Hmm now I a bit confused. Which software works with the aml-vnc then.
I thought RealVNC was installed in the clients PC and that was what accessed the local network and media box running LE.realVNC has two parts. One is a VNCserver and the other a VNCclient. you need the VNCclient to access the aml-vnc server (It should be installed on the clients machine). You connect through Teamviewer to your clients PC and run the VNCclient installed on his pc to access LibreElec.
-
That sounds like the best way. Would I have to install realVNC on their machine before starting the remote access? I would assume so.If you install realVNC on the clients machine, You would have to open the VNC ports I mentioned earlier on the router :(. If instead you install Teamviewer (Free version) on both the client and your machine, you do not have to open any ports as the connection is made using their servers.
-
So what about if I want to offer remote support to someone?I am able to get their www ip address from the box.
Would they then have to configure their router to open ports 5800 and 5900 or temporarily put it in the DMZ, for me to connect to them?
Regards.
Yes open those ports to point to the local ip of the LE box or DMZ to the local IP of the LE box. If you are going to involve the client then you can also use Teamviewer. No need to forward any ports and you can access the LE box locally from the clients pc/laptop.
-
Awesome, I can connect on my local network. AWESOME.Is it possible to connect to a remote Libreelec???
That would be the icing on the cake.
Yes it is possible. I have vnc working both locally and through the internet. You have to forward the ports 5800 & 5900 on your router to point to your LE local IP. works like a charm. You will need either a static IP address or use no-ip dynamic dns service (like I do) for it to work.

Hi all!I'm a bit new around this S905X....I have a Mini M8S II TV box (Mini M8S II TV Box (Amlogic S905X) Review – Part 1: Unboxing and Teardown)
and I'm trying to boot to libreelec via SD card. I followed all the procedures from 1 to 4 in how to install, but it seems that my M8S II does not have a reset button (for toothpick mothod). How can I get to the recovery mode from android? I tried to insert SD card after android booting, it just asks me for browsing through content. In UPDATE&RESTORE app I cannot find any right option to BOOT TO RECOVERY for installing LE over SD.
can you give me some instructions on how to boot over SD card?
I have the same box and in mine the reset switch is on the bottom of the box in one corner. Hope this helps.
