A quick test showed that 4kp24 content (tested with Interstellar-divx-hevc-uhd-51ch-4K.mkv) played fine with hyperion active (both at 4k and HD output at 24Hz), but 4kp60 seems to be too much (both at HD and 4k output). So, sorry, reducing the output resolution doesn't seem to help.
If you want something that plays all 4k content with hyperion active then ATM the RPi4 is not the right choice for you. It probably will get fixed at some point but as posted numerous times there's no ETA for the fix.

many thanks buddy. I will use then the 3b.
When it is fixed in the future then I could upgrade to 4.
Good luck everyone
4k playback with hyperion doesn't work ATM - I immediately get "no signal" when I try. Either disable hyperion or the 4k modes in whitelist (so 4k movies get played back at 1080p and have working hyperion).

many thanks buddy. Then for now is better to use the rpi3 if 4k is not possible with hyperion.
Perhaps in the future it will be fixed.

Display MoreCan you check if you get the black screens also with some other software-decoded videos (eg 1080p MPEG2 or VC-1 or by disabling MMAL acceleration in Player->Video)? Ideally with some publicly available sample file so it can be easily reproduced.
Would be interesting to know if it's a general issue with software decoded videos or if it's limited to Netflix, inputstream.adaptive or the widevine CDM.

how do I can play 4k with hyperion. You said something about an file to insert. How do I do that and is 4k with hyperion after that possible?

Yes I tried different ports on the tv self.
I am using the genuine rpi4 usb c charger.
i have an rpi4 4gb. After the installation of 9.2.0 everything looks ok and works great.
Also the hyperion looks great. When I play a movie the colors are correct like on my rpi3b
After a while I get the message of my tv:
NO SIGNAL. The uhd settings is already activated in my tv for the hdmi port which is rpi4 connected. The micro hdmi cable that I use is: original rpi4 micro hdmi cable.
Could be the problem in hyperion or is this something else. I tried 3 times a rpi4 but the same result.
Please help me......
Try a real hdmi 4k cable. For example the rpi4 micro hdmi cable.
And turn on also uhd in the hdmi settings of your tv.
No, I haven't tested without the Arduino. Can't easily do that as LED strip and arduino are all attached behind my wall-mounted TV.
I wouldn't rule out there's some problem with direct attachment, but as I said I can't really check myself.

Hi,
i test it again. When I reboot the pi4 i get no picture. The tv is saying no signal.
Even when I plug the hdmi cable in an another hdmi port it is the same trouble.
Could be the problem in your hdmi cable. Maybe it is not made for 4k60 but for 4k30
could you let me know please?
Another guy from here says the same thing about green and white.
But did you test the images without the arduino micro?
i think without the arduino you will also get problems.
I could test it from the colorwheel of course.
But why i have green and white if I watch movie? That is weird.

Hmm, are you sure your Pi4 is not defect? (GPIO Pins)
Strange, if your setup is working fine with Pi 3.
Your connection is fine ?
I tested in total 4 pi4 and the same result. How did you made your connection between the led strip and the rpi4?
many thanks
So today I tested 3 more rpi4 with ambilight. I put the most recent image on it: 9.2.0
Here are the facts:
With all the 3 pi I got the rainbow effect
Also got green lights when I opened an soccer game
Also got white lights when the sidesin the video was white
The image I tested: RED GREEN BLUE WHITE
RED worked
Blue Worked
Still the white and green image does not worked. You see it is opening the lights and then closing. I made an video of it.
see this link for the video files I made:
So my question to you is: Could you test the images I sent to you again without the arduino? Because I am thinking the arduino complete the green and white light. Because we tried everything but no effect. So in totally 4 pi's tested.
It is very weird that green and white is working in an movie or soccer game but not in the pictures area. To know this issue I could only say that you could try it without the arduino. Perhaps the green and white lights is then also not working by you.
I hope you will get results with this.
Many thanks
I will get the rpi4 in some days again and test it again then.
I will keep your updated
Many thanks
