OK, finally this device tree solved my life... No changes on remote.conf, no changes on rc_maps, no changes for nothing more.

Hello, how did you finally get it to work? I have changed the remote.conf several times and nothing happens. Sorry to resurrect this question
Oh, ok this device tree works perfectly!!
Download the dtb-file from here.
That worked. Thanks!

Display MoreHello,
thanks for the great work. I have three S905X boxes. Two are perfect.
However, the SMBOX SM2 (1GB / 8GB) can not run the ./installtointernal command from # 8.
One of BOOT, SYTEM, DATA or DTB partitions is missing.
Make sure you are using a correct device tree and a device with internal me mory!
As device tree I use the gxl_p212_1g.dtb.
Can someone help me please.
Are you sure that one is S905X and not S905W ?
That is the device tree error that i had weeks ago. All my x96 minis were gxl_212, but now are new gxl_281 devices.
Hope it helps you.
Hi, I'm having problems with the remote control and LE 8.2.3.1
The remote control does not work properly for me, I added the attachments for the rc_map to work instead of the remote.conf (this was not really working initially).
Then I set the rc_keymap with the following commands:
systemctl stop kodi
systemctl stop eventlircd
ir-keytable -a /storage/.config/rc_maps.cfg -s rc0
systemctl start eventlircd
systemctl start kodi
But the command does weird things. For example, left pulse and goes to the left. But then right pulse, and go to the left, and then to the right.
I think it may be due to delay or timeout problems. So I entered this command:
ir-ctl -t 20000
But it shows me the following:
/ dev / lirc0: the device does not support the configuration timeout
Does anyone know what can happen?
Ok, its solved...
I had to download the latest version of Eminence from github in .zip, delete my backup version of Eminence from addons and finally add the rc_maps of Alfawise_x96.
All about version 9. I'm sorry to open this post and have resolved it so soon. Thanks for the help in other post. A greeting.
Hi, I'm pretty desperate. I have an odyssey to get an X96 Mini works with my favorite version 8.2.3.1. I have managed to do installtointernal, which is how I like it. I used the dtb gxl_281. The problem is that the remote control does not work. I have tried everything:
-From changing the remote.conf
-Try to do a new key mapping (it does not work, or does not detect when I press the keys with dmesg -c)
-And even change the rc_maps as it is done in 8.9 (which I have tried and it works adding alphawise_x96pp to rc_maps, the problem is that then I have problems with Kodi 18 and my Eminence skin, so I can not use version 8.9)
-Finally I had to mount the / flash directory using Putty, and copy the remote.conf there so that when doing installtointernal, I did not launch any error and install it correctly.
But neither did the latter work ... I do not know what else I can do. Please someone help me.
Glad you got it working.
I *believe* it is work in progress.
However with the amount of "Chinese" Android boxes on the market now, it is difficult to keep up with each and every distribution.
Yes, it is understandable. It will be increasingly difficult to do something standard...
Have you considered Coreelec? Although installtointernal is not supported. It might work
Yes, i used it. And it has installtointernal command. I like it, but i have all my addons, and skin, and more things configured in libreelec, and when I load the backup in coreelec, many things like the skin, icons, and images are lost. But if not, I would use it.
Well I think it is something that many users use and it is very good to keep it I believe in future versions.
I did this, and installtointernal works to me:
Hi Iridium, thanks for your response.
I tried it from Samba by going to the Updates folder and pasting the .tar. Rebooted normaly, updating, all ok. Reboot again. But I got the following image:
Finally I went to that link, I downloaded version 8.9 I mounted on a USB, and I booted from it. Now the problem is that when I try to install it to my x96, it does not detect the installtointernal command. Can it never be used again in 8.9? Is there any way to use it?
Thanks.
Hello, I'm using the LE 8.2.3.1 kszaq distribution, and I want to update to 8.9 but it does not show me any updates channel in settings, it's empty. And I do not know how to install another version of not from kszaq in my X96 mini. When I mount a USB or SD, a folder appears that says EFI and there is no sign of the dtb. The structure is that of a boot for PC, not for my tv box. Can someone help this ignorant? How can I make a bootable usb for my X96? I have already followed the steps, but he will not let me. It does not boot.
It is an X96 mini 1gb with device tree 281.
Thank you.
Ok guys, I've finally come up with the exact combination. Libreelec 8.2.3.1 and the device tree gxl_p281_1g.dtb
If you do not find it in this forum, you mount a usb with CoreElec and inside the usb there is a directory with all devices trees. You take it and you put it to your usb with libreelect as always (dtb.img)
I've been doing tests with CoreELEC and with this version and this device_tree has allowed me to do "installtointernal".
CoreELEC-S905.arm-8.95.7-S905.img.gz
gxl_p281_1g_a95xr2.dtb
I know it's not the CoreElec forum, I'm sorry. But maybe I can help someone. I tried to put that device tree to libreelec and it did not work. If someone can tell me something, I'll thank him.
Yes, I usually use installtointernal 2 times in a row. But I get the message that shows the user Fregasuelos.

It does not detect the nand.
installtointernal has been disabled in Libreelec for about a year at this stage. Unless you have a special build with it added then it will never work.
Shoog
Hello Shoog thanks for answering. I am using the LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.3.1.img version and so far I have been able to use the "installtointernal" command on all similar devices (x96 mini 1gb RAM/8gb ROM). But this in particular, must be a new manufacture and does not allow me to do it.
Hello, I recently bought an x96 mini 1g RAM / 8gb ROM that does not allow me to launch the command "installtointernal" from ssh. I have installed more x96 mini identical, but this seems that it does not allow to do it as always. I have tried other devices_trees: gxl_p212_1g_nand.dtb and gxl_p212_1g_slowemmc.dtb from USB and from SD, but still do not let me install. I read in another thread that the problem is that it does not recognize the nand, but I have not found any solution, could someone help me?
My sincere thanks to the people who have created Libreelec and the entire forum for their contributions. Greetings.
