The first problem was the key-updater not working, we fixed that, and you made a new version. Done
The second problem is that the new makemkv addon version 9.0.108 doesn't work
The output of makemkvcon.bin info with makemkv addon v9.0-108:
makemkvcon.bin: /usr/lib/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /storage/.kodi/addons/lib.multimedia.makemkv/lib/libmakemkv.so.1)
So it definitively don't work and probably caused by updating the build environment?
Well have to ask some Kodi devs what it means in particular. It's quite possible that it fails to run because I rebuild the package on a newer system version. Basically all devel libs were updated -> so probably the new versions only runs on LE 9.1
The old makemkv addon 1.14.2 works just fine, so i adjusted the key updater script in the zip archive.
I tested this on libreelec 9.0 final (the stock version on the libreelec download page)
I didn't test it on your build because i don't need the game additions.
Possibly it will work on your new build environment?

It has notthing to do with the key updater.

Your new makemkv build doesn't work in standard libreelec 9
This is a part of the crashlog from kodi, full file is to big to upload
Funny thing is that the previous version works without any problems.
I used that one and changed the line number from the update script and it works fine.
I ex-amend all the files inside the archive and they appear to be the same, don't understand what is going on
The makemkv key update doesn't work anymore, apparently there is a change in the forumpost where you get the key.
The line number has changed (from 269 to 263), so please change this line in the makemkv-key-update file:

I installed the keydb.cfg and the result is the same,
the disc menu item is present but doesn't do anything, and kodi does not give a notification that it mounted the blu-ray, like it does with dvd
So the blu-ray disc detection still doesn't function.
Anyone any thoughts about this?
So if i understand right kodi doesn't read a blu-ray disc if keydb.cfg is not present due to libaacs is not functional?
Is this also the reason that if i insert a blu-ray the disc menu item is not shown? (and kodi does not give a notification that it mounted a blu-ray, it does for dvd)
I will try with a keydb.cfg present (like in the wiki article) and see how that works.

I have read the article (and have before) but it isn't a answer to my question.
Instead of using a keydb.cfg i use makemkv to decrypt. mainly becasue i have blu-rays that are not included in keydb.cfg
Or are saying that if i do add the keydb.cfg the blu-ray disc detection will work?
I don't understand how the blu-ray disc detection works, but do understand the difference between disc detection and disc decryption
In kodi 18 there supposed to be blu-ray disc detection but if i install libreelec this does not work.
dvd works fine though
The log file mentioned lots of read errors related to blu-ray disc.
So can kodi read blu-ray discs and detect them properly?
Or is that only possible for decrypted blu-rays? (for instance under Windows with anydvd or dvdfab installed)
I use makemkv addon (from 5schatten) to decrypt but the detection of blu-ray still fails with or without it.
The log file is from a live libreelec with nothing changed nor any addons installed.
Intel ivy-bridge hardware with a old pioneer blu-ray drive (my test equipment)
Go to settings/libreElec/network and enable wait for network to be online

If I would rework the MakeMKV Addons this way you would lose the ability to use your own key you've paid for or I had to create an Addon setting management something just for this purpose and honestly this has no high priority for me. You either can update the key once in a while or buy one and enter it to the config file
I understand that, but for the average jane/john doe it is necessary to know how it works, so at least add this info to the download section or howto.
That way it is clear how it works.
Point is that if you install the addon it simply won't work right away, witch could lead to frustration.. (i found out how it works by reading the code)
I agree that "Addon setting management" would be necessary to for full all possible needs and i do understand that it is no priority for you, but it may have priority to your users. It is just a thought.
Since you used MakeMKV in the past is it still functional? If so can you give us a brief summary what else you do to use it beside installing the addon & updating KEYDB.cfg? dainara tried to use it & ran into some problems so maybe you both have some advice for us.
I tested the makemkv addon again on libreelec rr and it still works, all though the disk menu doesn't seem to work.
the keydb.cfg is not needed when you use makemkv.
I didn't test it on your latest release though.
And i still think that the suggestions i mentioned should be implanted:
1e when you install this addon you should know that it is necessary to start the add on through the add on menu to update/install the key!
This should IMHO be included in the installation method.
2e updating the makemkv key should be automatic when you start libreelec, Key must be updated once a month so it would be nice to take care of that automatically so the average user does not have to think about it anymore.
You said make a cron job or start the addon with a startup script , while this is no problem for me, it will be for a average user
So the installation routine would be like this:
Start librelec rr
Click on add ons in the left menu.
In the upper left corner click on the box icon.
Choose install from zipfile.
Browse to where you put the makemkv zip file (this could be usb drive, harddisk or network drive)
Wait for it to install.
Start the add on at least once to update/install the key! (Click on Add ons in the left menu, and click on makemkv. popup will inform you)
Reboot
Insert a blu-ray disc and try through the disc menu.
If that doesn't work (It won't work on kodi 17.6) click on video/files and select the line with your blu-ray and click play if you have a remote, otherwise right click on that item and choose play. Do not use enter or ok on your remote, it won't work.
After this, if it works, there will be a list of found titles on the disc, usually only one but it can be multiple ones. if multiple choose the title with 800 in the title, if not try the other ones

As far as i understand the key updater will only run if you click on the makemkv add on icon, correct?
1e Is it possible to run the key updater when you install the add on? This would eliminate the extra click on the icon witch could be forgotten
2e is it possible to make the key updater run at every system start? Or every week or so.
This would fully automate the key update process
