I am not aware of any proper progress. Sadly they made it really hard wired to RPi for no good reason. It would be "pretty easy" to implemented into Kodi if they were just releasing some library.

hmm this is likely a driver problem - I have no experience with the WP2 so can't tell you if this is fixable or not.

Why not use Discourse?
Discourse is no option, currently this scaling is no big problem - afaik this is included at the next update of the forum software.

my Xbox One DVB stick works ootb, what image do you use ?

Chrome/ium with GBM is very experimental and a pain in the ass to maintain (self building Chromium is really nothing anyone wants anymore). I still hope that Kodi get the browser integrated via CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework) that would solve all our problems. Its basically the only missing part at Kodi to a full fledged HTPC software - there is already an older very pre alpha demo of that. Sadly no timeframe at all.

You may also consider to buy nothing "future proof" today. None of the devices from today can handle HDMI 2.1 or 4k AV1. So be prepared that what you buy to day is outdated tomorrow

Can we expect the same work with support for LE9.2 / LE10
for LE9.2/LE10 there are complete new drivers - thats why we didn't waste our time in improving the current (very old and not that good) driversd
I can't really predict what to expect yet.
Is there any specific improvement for S905?
nope, just what came down from Kodi and overall LE improvements

running X11 would be a huge advantage to people
nope, this has major drawbacks compared to the old method we are using today and compared to the latest technologies that are currently implemented (LE10)
A browser at an RPi is kind of useless, the RPi is heavily under powered for a proper usage. But ofc if this is enough for you I won't stop you
You could try to run an browser via docker - this was reported working. No idea what is really needed to do it.
Everything that is needed to run an docker is shipped with LE.

LibreELEC 9 Beta 3 was released
-
-
This should be fixed at latest master, i run into the same problem while updating tvheadend
Or do you try to update to tvh 4.3?
-
Maybe you got confused, the shield is an Android box that has no LibreELEC support at all.
