For Generic i.e. the update file is listing LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.2.[0234].{tar|img.gz] on releases.libreelec.tv, but only LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.2.4.{tar|img.gz] are available.

strange, do you still have the self compiled files ?
If so try to update to the self installed one if it happens there too.
Did you tried a clean install if it happens there too ?

try pc mode at the TV or find overscan/auto scaling etc at your tv settings
Fastest solution, download hirens boot cd and copy it to a usb stick with rufus. Then you can live boot a windows and upgrade it.

besides the obvious much quicker and easier installation raspbian does not ship everything LE ships, a lot quirks and optimizations are missing
Raspbian is a OS that also support Kodi
LE is a OS that just supports Kodi
