I just bought "Sammix R95" and loaded 8.90.2 on to it. There is a weird problem, though. My device has 2GB rams(the spec claims this and I verified in android) but I had to use the 1GB dtb to have it boot. Thoughts?
You bought a box with fake RAM. Search for fake ram in the forum you will find many similar posts.

I'm still using the same LE version from last April on my M8S II.
No update needed, Even UHD BD plays flawless.
It's installed on internal so I can test new versions on sd or pendrive easily.

Can you recommend a USB adapter model/brand.
Anything with ASIX88179 or Realtek 8153 chip will work.

Have you followed the first post and renamed your /dev/data's label to "LIBREELEC_DISK"?

Maybe you have already the same label if you put the data to internal previously.

All of my HDMI cables came with cheap boxes working well with 4k HDR content with HD audio.
No reason to buy more expensive ones.
Unfortunately I bought some earlier but it was just a waste of money.

1080p24hz is working fine. Pass through is not.
Av amp is only picking up 7.1 PCM.
Very strange. HD audio passthrough worked from the beginning on S912.
I would try another fresh install on different media (pendrive or sd card).

You can try to clone your working pendrive with win32diskimager. Or just start again from the beginning. If your previous pendrive worked then everything is ok with your box so the new one should work too.

The word [discontinued] has been present in the first post for a number of days now but I haven’t really seen anything to clarify what that means. Is kszaq able to clarify if we will see anything after 8.2.2.3 or what the reference refers to please? Are we to move to the 9.x.x.x versions being created by a different user soon?

The transcoded AC3 5.1 why better then the original PCM 5.1 or 7.1?

I can get DTS HD MA, and Dolby TrueHD PT with 7.1 channel settings.
If you set it to 2.0 you will get 2 channels only when watching a PCM multichannel video.
If yout set it to 7.1 you get all the channels.

I posted these facts a long time ago and got hammered by members.
Glad you brought it up again.
I sit over 4.5 metres away from my 1080p TV and at that distance 4K would be totally useless in my situation.
It is just a question of screen size and viewing distance. We watch a 60" tv from 2m and even my wife can tell the difference between 4k and fullhd.

The adapter itself is good enough, you can see if you connect it to a pc or laptop.
I can get speed above 300 Mbps measured with iperf3 on my boxes.
But I use it to an S905X box. Why do you need it for S912?
3D MVC is work in progress as i know. Don't expect the result soon.

You will see what are your options.
And then you can change it.
