Was this bit really necessary? All that's missing is the link in that ad
In the last 4 years, I have/had more than 2 dozen of these Inexpensive Chinese boxes, and this is the best by far. My first Amlogic device was a stick, MK808B Plus, and ran Kszaq's OpenELEC port on it. It was my Tvheadend server (whole home DVR) for two or three years. Now, I am running my Tvheadend server on my Beelink MiniMX 3 (Amlogic S905), and use it as one of my main media players. I also have an X9 (Amlogic S905X), running LibreELEC.
I also have many more expensive Android boxes, but this MeCool box, is the best of the bunch, especially for that price. It plays my live TV streams better than my Nexus Player or Xaiomi Mi box.
I have no affiliation with any manufacture or seller, just an addiction for these Android boxes.
*COUGH* The Mecool device has 9082c WiFi chip... *COUGH*
Yes, I forgot to mention that the WiFi is not very good, and no BlueTooth.
The MeCool M8S Pro Plus for less than $40 US is the best Amlogic S905X box on the market now. This MeCool M8S Plus is about as close to perfection as you can get. One button brings up the Chrome web browser (typing on it now), another button takes me back to the home screen.
It plays Netflix in 1080P with DD+ and YouTube in 4K, my live TV streams play flawlessly, including the interlaced mpeg2 streams.
Kodi plays my BluRay rips perfectly with HD audio.
Edit: All this for $38 US, with free shipping.
Wrxtasy's method of installing LibreELEC instructions.

In Kodi's power menu select "Reboot from Internal" to reboot to Android.
I know you said you tried the Windows disk management, but I am constantly changing OS's on my microSD cards, and I always have to use the Windows Disk Management tool.
Here is my video showing how I use that tool to reformat my MicroSD card, starts around the 4:30 minute marker.
If that fails, try this using windows command prompt.
Method 3: Try to format your SD card from command prompt.
a. Type cmd in start search box then right click on cmd and click on run as administrator.
b. when cmd opens, type diskpart
c. After that type "list disk".
d. Select the disk of your SD card.
"select disk 5"
e. Type clean.
f. Type "create partition primary".
g. Type fomat fs=fat 32 quick .
h. Type exit.
Well, for the first time ever I'm bricked. X96 2G box update as usual to 8.1.1 from 8.1.0. Black screen, no hdmi output signal, no network, etc. Toothpick method not working either. Sigh.
Did you try connecting to a Windows computer with the OTG port, yet?
I was testing it just to see if John Galt's Netflix addon would work with this nought build, but it did not work.
The next release (likely coming later today) will include a backup/import function for the tvheadend user data. This way you can recreat your system easily after a clean LE install - or you can copy it to multiple systems!
Glad to hear you're up and running!!
My epg addon will run on windows - but it needs to run on the system that has the tvh install in it! As an FYI - you can install the tvh2kodi addon on any system as it can look at the tvheadend service over the network.
Wow, I will really like the backup function, I am constantly redoing my boxes firmware's. I haven't been able to get your app working on my Kodi 18 test machine, but will wait until Kodi 18 has more development before I ask for your help.
Thank you Dazed, been reading so much of this thread, I was getting dizzy. If I have your permission, can I post your instructions to my YouTube video??
I have been using the Netflix addon, but did a clean install for this new version. Now I can't find the link on how I installed it before. I made a video showing how it looks, but I did not put any information in the description. can someone point me to the right post on how to install Netfix and Amazon addons. Guess old age is catching up to me. I have poring over this thread for hours but can't find the instructions. Part of the instructions was to use Putty to run a command, from what I remember.
thanks
First time playing with your mod, and WHOAAAAA!! Netflix plays in HD and started HD streaming almost instantly. I am using this from a fast microSD card running on my older Beelink MiniMX 3 (Amlogic S905). Will continue to test..........
Awesome, thanks.
FYI, my box is connected through an HDMI splitter, to my Denon AVR to my Samsung 4K TV.....
Had to make a short video showing this awesome Netflix HD port from your excellent work. I thought others may want to see what it looks like.

The only reason your remote may have stopped working is that you used LIRC device tree, which you shouldn't use unless you intend to configure LIRC.
Enjoy your coffee, thanks again for all your hard work.
Quick tip if any...how do you connect to Samba from a PC?
If using Windows, use Putty.
thanks for the advice, unfortunately im stock at the system recovery screen. i used win32deskimager to load the img to the usb stick but i guess its not right cause it does not show anything to load in the menus
That appears to be the Android boot loader screen, don't think you can install LibreELEC from that menu. Find the correct Android firmware for your box and install it. You may have to use a computer to install Android back on to it. Once you get Android installed, you can then install LibeELEC.
Display MoreThank you all for your help, I ordered Xiaomi remote clone and paired it successfully with my s905x Libreelec box and every thing is OK
The build quality is not that good however it connects as a remote control not as game pad and working the price is half the original one
Link please.
i have a very similar Denon AVR, and would get the same situation if my video resolution was too high. Power off your AVR, and you should get video on your TV. I have a 4k TV, but if my LibreELEC box is set higher than 1080P, I get no picture on my TV.
Thanks Dazed, that was the issue, problem resolved.....
