updated 64bit image with some addons built from kszaq 8.2.3.1 git tag to LE – Google Drive

    Hello everybody,

Can someone tell me what is better to use?

I am now running LE 8.2.3.1 from KSZAQ with no problems

The version for the 905 or the aarch64 for my system?

My system is A Coolwell V5 with an S905X processor and 1gb of RAM

And if I use the 64 bit image how do I install the addons?

    Greetings Herman

    Hello everybody,

My Coowell V5 booted up this morning and after A few minutes I got A message there was an LE update.

I have rebooted and my device was updated.

Works great, as far as I can see everything works OK.:)

KSZAQ thanks for al your great work and personal help getting LE running from nand on my device.

    Keep up the good work

    Thanks.

    Hello kszaq,

    IT WORKS :):):):)

I finaly have found A image containing 7.1

I flashed this rom using the usb flashtool

    It flashed complete to 100%

started the Coowell, but it hangs on the bootscreen.

I then inserted A SD card containing LE 8.2.

    started LE running installtointernal

    rebooted

The splash screen was visible and LE started up

    From LE reboot from internal

The splash screen was visible and LE started up

to be sure I have removed the cd card and rebooted again.

The splash screen was visible and LE started up.

So your workaround from post 11 to install Android 7 was the right one, I only did not remove the DTB.IMG but replaced it with your device tree.

My mistake I was thinking Android 7 has to complete start up.

So I went online to let you know it works.

Then I saw your message containing the Coowell device tree.

So back i went to my Coowell flashed the coowell Android6 image back

    started up

then I start LE using your device tree.

    And again everything installed nicely.

Now I have A running LE 8.2 from NAND no more Android for me:!:

KSzaq thanks for al your support:):):)

    Hello Kszaq and others,

I finally have installed A version of LE to NAND:thumbup:

But it is A old version

These are the specs of the system

    CPU AArch64 Processor rev 4 (aarch64)

    Hardware amlogic

    Revision 020a

    kodi16.1

    compiled Nov 6 2016

    LibreELEC (COMMUNITY)

    VERSION 7.02.009

    ARCH S905.AARCH64

Can I now upgrade this version to the latest version :?:

The version I have now running works ok but some add ons like uitzending gemist needs A new version of KODI.

But I can now use the card for movies and other media

    Greetings Herman

I have attached the DTB file used and the backup

I hope Zszaq wil now have a clue what was wrong

    Hallo kszaq

This was the file I have used

But to be sure I have taken the file from your last post this time

But the Coowell stil do not boot from internal:(

I took the following steps to install LE

clean install Coowoll V5 android 6 using AMBurning tool

sd card formatted and put install of LE s905.arm-8.2-8.2.2.2 on this card

replaced dtb.img with new one from your last download

    started LE

    Configured SSH reboot LE

    Connected to LE using Putty

get the installtointernal from your post

    dd if=/flash/dtb.img of=/sys/class/dtb/nfdtb bs=256k count=1

    wget installtointernal_test20171231

    chmod +x installtointernal_test20171231

    ./installtointernal_test20171231

    answer yes

answer n to copy user data

    let device reboot

    Coowell splashscreen has gone

    LE booted from card

    run ./installtointernal_test20171231

    answer yes

answer n to copy user data

    let device reboot

    shut down device

    removed card

    power device on

    only black screen

    Greetings Herman:)

    Hello kszaq,

    Yes your assumption is correct.

    the steps I took are

just to be clear I have installed a fresh copy of coowell android

    Made sure this works ok

    booted from card (containing LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.2.2)

replaced the DTB with gxl_p212_1g_nand.dtb renamed as dtb.img

    open putty did:

    1. wget installtointernal_test20171231
    2. chmod +x installtointernal_test20171231
    3. dd if=/flash/dtb.img of=/sys/class/dtb/nfdtb bs=256k count=1
    4. ./installtointernal_test20171231
    5. result only black screen

even after rebooting LE and run your installtointernal again no success.

to be sure when must I remove the card when rebooting?

    Please take your time.

I am glad for your help:)

    Greetings Herman

    Greetings Herman:)

    Hello Tim_Taylor,

It's not possible to play media from the usb stick or HDD, the controller is taking this slot.(the coowell V5 have no Bluetooth no IR control):!:

The media I will take with me occupy's more than the available space left on the LE cart.

The place where I use the stick has no internet connection and no computer is available:(

So the options you give are not usable for me.:(

    Greetings Herman

    Hello ZSZAQ,

Here is what I have done:

first reset my coowell and installed a Fresh copy of the Coowell v% firmware.

Made connection and set the time an language.

Now I have made A fresh LE sd card Using LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.2.2.img

I have resettet the stick using the resetbuton and the powercable

    LE boots.

Reset once and booted into LE

Leave the devicename unchanged logged into my network

    enable SSH and samba

    made the regionalsettings (dutch)

    And the time settings

    made backup of the settings

    rebooted LE

    start putty

logged in did followed your instructions

    yes

Do you want to copy your user data to internal data partition?

    n

Would you like to reboor now [y/N] =>y

    no coowell logo

    LE boot

    run ./installtointernal_test20171231 again

    yes

Do you want to copy your user data to internal data partition?

    n

Would you like to reboot now [y/N] =>y

first removed the sd card and then y

    LE shuts down

    again only a black screen:(

    Greetings Herman:)

    Hello KSZAQ,

I don't think Coowell had released android 7 for this stick.

The only firmware I could find Was at GearBest.

I have found another FW I could install on the stick and I believe it is for A mxq box ,it is called aml_mxq_add_boot_systemui.

I will try to find a FW that installs on my Coowell V5 and try your workaround.

    I have two more questions.

I hope you can point me in the right direction.

Where can I find the installtointernal on the LE card.

I can take a look why it is overwriting the boot logo and

how can I extract compare the DTB.IMG from android and LE?

I hope I can edit the DTB.IMG and saving the file.

But first I try to find android 7 and try your workaround

    Greetings Herman:)

    Hello ,

Can I conclude LE is not written to the place.?!?

Is the DTB to blame or must I look somewhere else for the problem?

I am a beginner at Linux, so could/would you inform me how to get the log from the serial console?

Is there A place on the net or in this forum where I can learn more about linux?

    Greetings Herman

And A happy new year to everybody on this very interesting forum.
