Also be aware, that 720p and below will be upscaled to 1080p by Kodi, although kszaq has teased the possibility of auto 720p resolution switching in an upcomming update.
Already available in OP.

Try using m201d build.

Hi kszaq, I noticed that the le90 branch has disappeared from your repository. Does this mean you are not going to continue with 9.0 development? The "official" LibreELEC repository has support for some amlogic devices but unfortunately not the S805 which is what I have.
I've never had master/9.0 branch in my repo, the only branches that were in my repo were for Pull Requests to LE master.
I have not started to port Leia to S805 but don't worry, I will provide the builds.

Have you rebooted after creating the file?
-
Kszaq are you moving on to LE 9.0 or do you stop?
Please read one page back: [8.2.2.3] LibreELEC 8.2 for S905/S905X

Short question: Iam planning on buying a M8S Pro L with S912 but it the beginning of this thread kzaq says:
But in this thread(the box guide): Choosing a S905 / S905X / S905D / S905W / S912 box guide wrxtasy says:
Which of this is true?
Both are opinions from 2 different points of view: mine is from developer, and in this case wrxtasy is a user. I have to admit that at first running LE on S912 was a bit painful experience but I managed to make it run much better and it's fine for a daily driver.
This means of course ability to set lower GUI resolution, not to switch to lower output resolution if movie res < GUI res? In other words if I want TV to scale up instead of BOX, I'll still need to keep GUI/system resolution at 720p?
Btw, is it still better to pick up S905X instead of S912? I know about lack of driver and hack you've used but GUI wise they both seem to work properly and decoding wise they were the same from the beginning, right?Yes, Kodi won't switch to lower resolution. You have to keep GUI at 720p. Switching to a lower res is considered to be added in Kodi Leia.
Yes, the only "hack" in S912 builds vs S905 is GUI rendering. Everything else works natively.

A fix for resolution switching on S912 is ready to be included when LE 8.2.3 comes out.
This means: you will be able to switch to 1280x720. Not a big deal but always something nice to have.

kszaq, do you have a current build for my Acer Revo AR3700-U3002 with ION integrated graphics? Is there any way to get this box to play HEVC and 4K content? What do you suggest for me?
My area of "expertise" is only Amlogic, can't advise on HTPCs, sorry.

GDPR-2 Looks like you to forgot to include this patch: LibreELEC.tv/linux-008-max_freq_dvfs_table.patch at libreelec-8.2 · kszaq/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
It should fix above issue.
-
And there's hope for a 9.x version from you... right?
-
Would it be possible just to close the thread?
No updates doesn't mean no support.
-
What release should we be looking at since the first page says this is discontinued?
What is wrong with the latest build?

This is being considered for Kodi Leia: CHG: Allow to downgrade resolution by koying · Pull Request #13191 · xbmc/xbmc · GitHub

Is it possible to set resolution to 720 ? I only have 1080 and 2160 in the interface. I would rather set it to 720 and let my tv upscale from 720 to 2160 for videos that aren't in 1080 or 2160.
In current builds resolutions other than 1920x1080 and 4K are not supported on S912 - read the first post, please!

cosmos Custom EDID linked above won't work. There's an easier way:
- login over SSH and execute cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/disp_cap > /storage/.kodi/userdata/disp_cap
- edit the file, e.g. nano /storage/.kodi/userdata/disp_cap and add a new line: 1080p24hz
