    Now,

if someone can share some thoughts on the S905 USB ACPI power-off issue... ?

As far as I remember this is controlled by bootloader and you have to get source code from manufacturer + modify it (don't know how).

I upgraded to 8.1.2 (from 8.0.2e) and since then my SAMBA network name appears as "%H" (in windows) although the name in settings in LE is "LELIVING".

Also, when I try and access this share I get a request for username and password even though the SAMBA authentication settings in LE are disabled.

Does anyone else have this issue? how can I fix it?

Try to remove (or temporarily rename) your Samba config file: /storage/.config/samba.conf

Can someone please help me on my issues i posted on page 15 with S905X and S912 or provide some guides to fix the bug i am getting please.

It would be much easier for you and people who could be able to help you if you created a separate thread and posted logs. Please read instructions linked in OP (pinned thread) and make it easier for you and for us.

    Hi,

it is a little uncomfortable to quote ourself but I think that I must do it. Simply I have not a chance to solve my problem by myself. Thank You for all Your hard work and please help me if You can.

    The same thing applies here.

    Hello,

I have problem with TIDAL in Libreelec.

I used it on Widnows+kodi and it works well, but in LibreElec I can only choose music but it never play.

    Do you know problem?

Please collect Kodi log and ask addon author first.

    Hi,

Can i use DVB USB tuner (below url) with this build ? if yes what settings to change ? im having S905X 2G/8G box and using the latest 8.1.2 build

    Please help

RTL2832U tuners are supported, you only need to take care of PVR backend+frontend (like with all tuners).

This guide can be applied to my S805, S905 and S912 builds. It won't work on devices with native dual-boot, e.g. WeTek. It won't work with official LE or any other build that does not use partition labels for dual booting.

WARNING: Before proceeding, remember to backup your SD card that you boot LE from. Backup the whole card using "Win 32 Disk Imager" or "dd".

If you want to keep Android on your box for any reason but don't have/want to buy/want to use a fast and big SD card for LibreELEC, it is possible to load LE from SD card and use internal memory to store your data. This way internal data partition can be shared with Android.

    Advantages:

+ system responding faster - most of the times internal memory is better with random read/writes

+ no need to overwrite Android

+ you can use SD card as small as 1GB for LE (perhaps even 256MB but this guide won't cover it)

    Disadvantages:

    - data partition shared with Android

    - LE boot time does not improve

LE/CE 8.9 Leia additional instructions in Post #63

Basically all references to LIBREELEC_DISK posted below need to be changed to STORAGE for LE/CE 8.9

    1. Identify partition that you boot from and change its label.

Login over SSH and use blkid to list disk partitions and their labels. Find a partition called LIBREELEC_DISK:

    Code
    /dev/loop0: TYPE="squashfs"
    /dev/cache: UUID="57f8f4bc-abf4-655f-bf67-946fc0f9f25b" TYPE="ext4"
    /dev/system: LABEL="system" UUID="da594c53-9beb-f85c-85c5-cedf76546f7a" TYPE="ext4"
    /dev/data: UUID="57f8f4bc-abf4-655f-bf67-946fc0f9f25b" TYPE="ext4"
    /dev/mmcblk1: PTUUID="0969ebc9" PTTYPE="dos"
    /dev/mmcblk1p1: SEC_TYPE="msdos" LABEL="LIBREELEC" UUID="090C-41E0" TYPE="vfat" PARTUUID="0969ebc9-01"
    /dev/mmcblk1p2: LABEL="LIBREELEC_DISK" UUID="637a27c5-a4af-4919-b692-949a67ded223" TYPE="ext4" PARTUUID="0969ebc9-02"

In my case it is /dev/mmcblk1p2. Remove label from this partition:

    Code
    e2label /dev/mmcblk1p2 ""

    2. Apply a label to data partition

Apply LIBREELEC_DISK partition label to internal data partition:

    Code
    e2label /dev/data "LIBREELEC_DISK"

    3. Verify partition labels

Verify that partition label was correctly applied using blkid:

    Code
    /dev/loop0: TYPE="squashfs"
    /dev/cache: UUID="57f8f4bc-abf4-655f-bf67-946fc0f9f25b" TYPE="ext4"
    /dev/system: LABEL="system" UUID="da594c53-9beb-f85c-85c5-cedf76546f7a" TYPE="ext4"
    /dev/data: LABEL="LIBREELEC_DISK" UUID="57f8f4bc-abf4-655f-bf67-946fc0f9f25b" TYPE="ext4"
    /dev/mmcblk1p1: SEC_TYPE="msdos" LABEL="LIBREELEC" UUID="090C-41E0" TYPE="vfat" PARTUUID="0969ebc9-01"
    /dev/mmcblk1p2: UUID="637a27c5-a4af-4919-b692-949a67ded223" TYPE="ext4" PARTUUID="0969ebc9-02"
    /dev/mmcblk1: PTUUID="0969ebc9" PTTYPE="dos"

    4. (Optional) Copy your data to internal memory

If you omit this step, after reboot you will have a clean system.

    Code
    systemctl stop kodi
    mkdir -p /tmp/data
    mount -o rw /dev/data /tmp/data
    cp -pPRv /storage/. /tmp/data
    umount /tmp/data

Thanks for the new test build 8.1.2 but sadly the 3D probelm still remains unchanged it seems. Tried a few times and with different 3D content videos too but still hte same problems as reported before.

Are you able to post link to a sample that crashes your box? I'll try to reproduce it on my non-3D TV. I also assume that this is using S905X?

Just to be sure, I would like to upgrade from 8.0.2e (install to memory) to 8.1.1, if 8.0.2e is already installed to internal memory is it necessary to use nand device tree ?

You have to use a device tree while upgrading, choose a one with the same name you did for 8.0.x.

With raybuntu's krypton15.3 build 3D switching is very reliable.

And so it is with my 8.0.2e build. The issue is with Nougat kernel. I repeat once again: I don't have 3D equipment, I can only guess which part of the code is responsible for crashes. If you need reliable 3D switching, please use other builds until the issue is resolved in Nougat kernel builds.

I have also MKV-files, where MediInfo shows '8bit and BT.2020' (input files to Handbrake are 10bit/4:2:0 (Type 2), encoding with HBs h.265-encoder). Which value should I use with the echo-command?

When you release a new image, can I upgrade from within kodi or do I have to burn the new image over the current one?

You can upgrade but not within Kodi. Please carefully read OP (including linked content) to see what to do.

What is the linux version that this image is build from?

It's the only available fully working Amlogic kernel: 3.14.29. Link to source code is always in OP.

8.1.2 Moonlight still crashes when trying to launch a game.

When anything is done to fix it, you will see it in the changelog. I've already updated Moonlight to the latest version and it still doesn't work.
