Hermankodi Unfortunately you can't upgrade to 8.2 or 8.90 build for now as it requires an updated device tree and your device seems to be refusing it, you would get a black screen.
Please try installing 8.2 using this device tree: gxl_p212_1g_coowell_v5.dtb
Please don't use the modified script, use installtointernal

I don't. The commit is for txl, so neither S905(X) nor S912.
wholee It's not a question to me as I don't provide u-boot - it is provided with Android firmware for your box.
However, I'm not having much luck with getting sleep/wake to work. I've enabled the sleep function in the config file mentioned earlier in the thread via SSH, but I'm not sure how to go about waking the device after it goes into standby (when the front LED is red). I've tried sending remote commands with HDMI-CEC and Bluetooth, but neither can wake the unit up; I have to press the front button 'on' to wake it up.
These boxes cannot be woken up using CEC or Bluetooth. Only IR and power button (and some WoL when enabled in bootloader).
LIBREELEC_DISK is for 8.2,
STORAGE is for 8.90.
Anyone got a clue?

I have no way to check AP6212A as I have no device with that chip. You can try using 8.2.2.2, it has updated firmware and a slightly modified driver. I am also preparing a general WiFi driver update from Amlogic's "Oreo" branch (that is public thanks to Khadas), you can try a build with an updated driver:

Hermankodi I will look at the dtb you attached later today. I understand that even after using the additional command your box doesn't boot from internal?
Maybe it is a stupid question and not so important, but is from some versione that I don't see anymore the kodi splash screen at start.
When I boot my device, I see the libreelec spalshscreen, After that there is some second of black screen and the system start in home.All work correct so is not a problem, but is possible to re-acrivate kodi splash screen?

Perhaps your TV/screen shows a black screen when resolution is changed. The resolution setting is also applied for Kodi splash screen as a workaround for proper color mode and for now this can't be worked around.
Hermankodi Have you tried using the command from my previous post? Also the script creates a backup of device tree in root folder of your SD card, please attach it here.

Hermankodi Try using this command before running installtointernal:
dd if=/flash/dtb.img of=/sys/class/dtb/nfdtb bs=256k count=1
Remember that you don't have to reinstall Android between your trials, simply continue using LE from SD card while trying to find a solution. 
sergiosmail It looks like your eMMC is broken. You might still be able to run LE from SD card. First create SD card with LibreELEC (or use the one you already have), then write bootloader to it, you can use this tutorial (stop after the two "dd" commands): How to Create a Bootable Recovery SD Card for Amlogic TV Boxes
If you have Android 7 on Internal, try booting LE without dtb.img on. SD card.
I will try to find if any of my boxes uses NAND (most of them have eMMC) and see if I can reproduce the issue. But let me do this next year.
