1. System setup
AMD AM1 motherboard with AMD 5150 APU integrated GPU. Libreelec 7.0.2 however the issue was seen already with Openelec 6.95.3

HTPC <-hdmi-> CEC-adapter <-HDMI-> TV Sony KDL-55W829B <-HDMI ARC-> LG Soundbar

The HTPC is contorlled via CEC. Switching off the TV put the HTPC and soundbar into standby.

2. Symptom
When the TV is switched on the HTPC and soundbar wake up. Starting any video has no sound.
Stop and start another media does not help.
Recovery is to go to Settings/System menu. Nothing needs to be changed. When I enter to System submenu the audio comes back immediatelly.
Frequency: not fully systematic. Sometimes comes every time, sometimes does not happen for days.

3 Logs
Kodi.log

Wakeup happenes at 19:38:56
There is no sound until I step into the Settings/System menu. Then the sound immediatelly recovers at 19:40:20

There are many ALSA sound card related log entries I cannot evaluate.

My TV supports many different refresh rates but 50Hz is the optimal beacuse it fits with the Live TV refresh rate hence Kodi menu can be shown without any delay as no need to adjust the display refresh rate.

However sometimes I observe that the refresh rate is set to 60Hz for an unkown reason. I do not know when and why it happens but it happens time to time.

Is there any solution to force the default refresh rate?

I managed to reproduce the fault.

If nothing happen then you didn't copied files to update folder correctly. And update process didn't even start if you didn't saw anything on screen.

Yes, Kodi Krypton supports touchscreens. But it doesn't have any calibration addon (at least I don't know for it). Insteady you need to edit some settings in advancedsettings.xml.
My tslib approach is pre-Krypton and it doesn't involve Kodi.

Hi,

Managed to install the test build (I copied the .zip instead ot the inner .tar at first time) I found the touch calibration addont however it won't start. It endlessly shows only a small window stating "Working"...

Is there any chance that Krypton will work with this kinf of touchscreen if I try to find the calibration values starting with blind shots? If I saw any visible feedback on the screen, a moving cursor or a menu item selection then I could fine tune the calibration manually. Currently touching the screen leads to deselecting the actually hihglighted menu item and nothing more. In this sense no difference among LE 7.0.2, LE8 alfa and this test LE build including TSLIB.

Yes, this image from #9 post iis correct then.

Why can't you use it to update? What happen?

Nothing. When I reboot the Pi it starts with the existing software. I will try it once more. Probably I did something wrong.

BTW, Based on comments here and here I concluded that Kodi 17 Krypton supports touchscreen. That is why I went for LE alfa release.

sakos, calibration addon itself doesn't do anything. It works only if my tslib touschreen stuff is included. And it is not in official images - you need to compile image yourself or check here if someone posted image for rpi.

In my understanding the images in post #9 are build for RPi2. The only problem that it won't be installed automatically when put into the update folder. Can it be forced somehow?
If there is any other possibility I would like to avoid compile by myself.

On the other hand even LE 7.0 responds on touching the screen. It seems that it detects the touch but does not recognize the position. That is why I wanted to run the calibration addon but I could not find it anywhere.

Hi,

I have a RPi2 with an 5'' LCD touchscreen. It has SPI interface based on ads7846/XPT2046. I would like to use it with Libreelec. After spending a lot of time with searching the internet this topic looks the most promising.

Started with the "LibreELEC 7.0.1 image with egalax support and tslib integration" update file in #9, however it won't install. The system is on LE 7.0.2 now and it completely ignores this update file. Due to this I went for LibreELEC v7.90.004 Alpha as it should contain the touch screen support. It has been installed succesfully however I cannot find the touch screen calibration addon neither in the repositories nor in my addons.

Any hint how to continue?

Hi,

Originally this fault was observed on Openelec 6.95.3 but it is present in Librelec 7.0.1 as well. I have two AMD based HTPC at home and both suffer by this fault.
After the system wakes up from sleep via CEC there is no sound on the HDMI output. Recovery is to go to Settings/System menu. Nothing needs to be changed. When I enter to System submenu the audio comes back immediatelly.
