I have installed this on my RPI3 after having used your standalone addon which I was very happy with.
Now I use Emulation Station but for some games (Lion King on the SNES for example) the screen just turns black and goes back to the ES screen. I can only get it working by going via Retroarch and loading it through that. Strangely ES works fine for (most ) other games.
No..we might need other controller I guess..

not sure if this is the right place to ask this question...I m trying to play some N64 roms with a usb Snes controller which works fine with most roms but with the n64 the up and down and right left directions are not working in most games...anything I can do?
Did you get this to work? Have the same problem, can't get the controls to work even though it works give for SNES or NES
maybe you have assigned analog to act as a dpad in cores input options, below joystick type="retropad"... take a look over there... or try to edit input settings.
will try that when I get home tonight, but how does that explain why all my other NON N64 ROMs work just fine?
Could it be a core issue? Is there only 2 N64 core to choose from?
Interestingly got super Mario 64 and again the d pad does nothing, no matter what input method I choose.
Yesi checked the input. It's weird the d pad works fine for the screens where you select your character and race etc but as soon as the race starts the left and right don't... I got two different ROMs of the game, same effect.
Other games no problem (though this is my only n64 game, others are NES , SNES and megadrive and they are perfect)
Any reason why Mario kart 64 (N64) the left and right controls dont work?
Will this addon be supported when Kodi 18 (Leia) is released? How will it differ from the inbuilt retro player?

I recently got some SNES30 wireless controllers which I connected via Bluetooth successfully to Libreelec to play games (Retroarch)
Now I have noticed that when I turn my TV off it turns itself back on again after a few minutes (approx. 10) - why does it do that!? It has never done it before. My controller is turned off so its not like it is communicating with the Pi3. My only means of controlling this is by turning everything off at the mains.
I have looked at the settings under CEC (peripherals) but cant see anything obvious...
Help?
thanks - I think I will wait till this is an easier process. I tried this last time and failed miserably ( I got errors all over the place, and I was denied access when I tried to delete the userdata folder)
I don't dare try this again as it was a real pain to get it all running again as a standalone addon
Also, how are you getting on making the install script so with the ael author to make it easier to go from your add on to your repo? ( Without the need for manually needing to copy things across or deleting unwanted folders and files)
thanks, I think I have tried the modes, the manual is practically non existant and is seemingly a google translate of a Chinese manual.
I don't understand the different "modes" either, if my controller pairs fine by powering on the controller with the start button for 3 seconds isn't that the correct mode?
The powering on of libreelec is just weird but cant be anything other than this new controller messing things up.
Are there any users on this forum who have my same controller that can help?
I just bought a 8bitdo snes30 controller toplay my retro games and all went well as I paired it immediately and played straight away.
Issues i encountered were when I left the game for some time and the controller went to sleep. I couldnt pair it again (and couldn't get back to libreelec as I couldn't exit retroarch) so had to do a full power down and reboot.
I also noticed that when my TV was off (connected to my rpi3) and I turned it on to play my controller when I powered that on with the start button for 3 seconds wouldn't pair and I had to go to libreelec settings to connect it manually every time.
Finally my issue is that now my TV, when turned off, turns on automatically every few minutes on its own. I clicked the enable standby setting on my controller settings, does that have something to do with it? I assumed that meant I could leave a game paused for a long time and my controller wouldn't power off or lose BT connection ?
Ok - is there a script I can run to completely clean all my gamestarter/AEL etc so I can run your repo without any potential "rubbish" left behind?
as for the logs, do they get created afresh every time or are the logs added to every time (ie making them massively long)?
sorry bite_your_idols I am a bit of a noob at this, how do I get to my log?
Fixed it by uninstalling repo add ons and installing the normal version. I am sure there is a bit of a mess left behind from the install though. I will leave it like this for now I think
