libreelec_settings [LibreELEC]
Search for "auto share external drives"
It's already default and enabled and confirm not working.
LE 8.2 (including 8.1.x) uses SMB2/3 so there is no 'network browsing' in Kodi (as it requires SMB1). You will need to configure the full server/path to add the shares.
Will report back. Is this what I need to type in my daughter RPi3: \\enter_ip_address_here\HD

I read a few thread but not understanding.
I'm on LibreElec 8.1.2 RPi3, wired connection. I hooked Picture/Video HD to RPi3 USB port. I can view all files in that RPi3 but if I go to my daughter room who also have RPi3 LibreElec 8.1.2 Wired, I did not see the hard drive that was connected from downstairs RPi3. I remember the early version on LibreElec, I can see my HD in all my RPi3. Is that not accessible anymore or I need to do something?

Uninstall LE and install Android. It is not possible to use 'external' player apps in LE. It's not necessary either..
Thank for the info

MxPlayer might be a no go...that's an android apk as far as I can tell...VLC is not gonna work directly with Libreelec but there is a kind of a workaround to make it work via docker (not tested)...that means no HW accelaration..
You don't really need any other players on LE as available players work fine...why would you need VLC on LE?
I and another kodi member modified DKnlght addon but any movies that uses "docs.googleusercontent.com" will not play. I even try using gdrive addon and it still not works. For Android, if I can use "playercorefactory.xml", it works fine. I'm not sure how to use it for RPi LibreElec
Hopefully someone can help with my Khmer community who uses LibreElec.

Hi,
I have RPi3 and LibreElec installed. How do I add either VLC or MXPlayer as a default player for kodi?
-
Kodi pushed to 17.6 a few days ago. If I want to make a new LibreElec to 17.6 is this all I need to change
http://LibreELEC.tv/packages/mediacenter/kodi/package.mk
PKG_VERSION="a9a7a20"
Thanks

Sorry to hijack.
How or where do I add below code in samba? Can I migrate the code before compiling to img? Thanks

"......
NB: An issue with HEVC playback on Raspberry Pi and Slice hardware was reported during the initial canary period and replacement 8.2.0.1 images with a fix (for those devices only) have now been published...."
Hi, is this for all RPi (2,3, zero)?
Thanks

I have an old M8S S812 box.
OS: Android 4.4
CPU: Amlogic S812 Quad core Cortex A9r4 2.0 GHz.
GPU: Octa-core Mali-450MP GPU @ 600MHz.
RAM: 2GB DDR3; ROM: 8GB EMMC.
I notice that the Github had amlogic. With RPi3, I would do "PROJECT=RPi2 ARCH=arm". How do I compile for amlogic?
Thanks

You mean FTP way? What I been doing was create a kodi folder in \projects\RPi2\filesystem\usr\share\kodi
and inside kodi folder I have 2 folders, addons and media. In addons folder, I have folder skin.estuary. The folder contain my changes.
That's all I did for 8.0.2 but I guess it's not the same for 8.1.2?
-
Maybe I'm the editing the "master" version of skin.estuary instead of skin.estuary krypton that's why i'm stuck at at LibreEelec Community 8.1.2 with LibreElec logo?
-
Code
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade git clean -xfd PROJECT=RPi2 ARCH=arm scripts/clean linux rm -rf /home/Eva/.ccache-libreelec PROJECT=RPi2 ARCH=arm make clean git fetch origin git reset --hard origin/master
then git checkout 8.1.2
finally compile PROJECT=RPi2 ARCH=arm make image
My 2nd attempt was then delete LibreELEC.tv folder and then re-do the
but still get stuck at LibreEelec Community 8.1.2 with LibreElec logo.
I'm using Desktop Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Hi,
When 8.0.2 released, I complied RPi3 LibreElec kodi skin to my liking and install work perfectly. Now, when I try to do the same with 8.1.2 beta, complied successful. I was able to see the first screen about "do not power off", then second screen w/rainbow boot screen for a second and finally LibreEelec Community 8.1.2 and I'm stuck at that part with LibreElec logo for like hour.
How do I view debug log ? Will the logs store in SD card that I can plug to computer and view?
Thanks

Is 100 or 1000-BaseT Ethernet matter if your internet speed is less than 100mb up/down? Personally, I like Pi3 if your intention is only for kodi. 4K doesn't matter to me.

1) LibreELEC is designed as a htpc application, not as a cloud storage solution.
I'm just curious: a single 4TB drive with videos/pictures. Do you have a backup somewhere of all those files?
Because I sometimes ask people: what happens if such a single drive suddenly fails?2) LibreELEC uses two partitions: One 512MB system readonly partition, and one storage partition which is automatically resized to the full size remaining disk size upon the first boot of LibreELEC.
Just asking if possible.
If HDD die, I'm not sure what to do. Just like if DVD damage, it's gone. If u have better way to save family pic/video, please share.
