veronicasmithen03 I will check with my VIM later this week.
frequenzy Yes, it defaults to SMB2 now. Don't ask me, it's an upstream LE 8.2 change.
thanks, is it still possible to use SMB1 via LE on 8.2?

Hi kszaq
where there any SMB changes from 8.1.8 to 8.1.9?
I have this line at autostart.sh
mount -t cifs -o username=xxx,password=xxx,rw //192.168.1.1/sda2 /storage/smb
when using 8.1.7 and older versions, smb folder is properly mounted
i tried upgrading to 8.1.8 and 8.1.9, i get a host is down error,
wont ever, s905 doesn't support HDR. you need s905x
how to install netflix addon on your build?
You refer to this part:
"Amlogic has not released fbdev Mali libraries and has no plans to release them. These builds use libhybris and Android gralloc Mali driver to provide OpenGL for Kodi - this is an experimental approach with CPU overhead - this means suboptimal GPU performance."
Unfortunately I did not understand how libhybris works and how to install it ?
Just to make it simple..
from the 1st post,
"If you consider buying a device for LE, do not buy Amlogic S912!"
Yes I'm using the latest dtb and I'm trying to update via the update folder from LE7.0.3 to LE8.2. Is this how you updated your X96? or did you use sdcard method?
also used the update folder, my upgrade path was LE7 to LE8.0 to LE8.2, i just used the .tar and dtb to upgrade.
So I updated my MiniMX 2G (S905) from LE7 to LE8 using gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit and it boots fine, but my X96-1G & X96-2G (S905X) using gxl_p212_1g/2g.dtb doesn't boot afterwards, just stuck at the initial boot screen. Is this because my X96 boxes have a non-standard partition layout and my MiniMX does? and the the update basically needs to be applied twice to format the partitions correctly?
If so, is there any way around this?
i also use x96, no issues running 8.1.8, are you you used the updated dtb for 8.2?
Hello,
I have a little problem with my S905X: I use to power off the TV when I push the power key in the remote. The problem is that every time I power on the TV and want to play LiveTV or a Video it doesn't work. And I need to unplug and plug the power cord.
Once it reboot it work great. Anyone have same problem?
My device is Mini M8S II.
Kind regards.
Are you using hdmi-cec and suspend? If yes try to disable it or instead of choosing suspend, select shutdown
just updated Tx3 pro and x96 to 8.1.7. no issues encountered
Now some bad news: I e-mailed VideoStrong - as the chip is used in their Mecool M8S Pro+ - requesting the driver and they informed me that 9082 chip supplier doesn't give them driver source code and refuses to share pre-built driver object file (9082xs.o) that could help us building the driver for LibreELEC.
Now that I have one device with that chip I tried using the pre-built driver but it crashes on NULL pointer dereference - something that can't be fixed without source code.
what are the known boxes that have this wifi chip?
if the M8S pro plus only have a supported wifi chip
How to check wifi chipset via ssh? without opening the box.

just a quick one, in terms of licensing why is s905(x) different than s912? because s905 seems to be fully supported by LE.
My S905X Device (M9S) seem to have an unsupported HDMI CEC Adapter, since I am always greeted with the "Couldn't initialize Pulse Eight HDMI CEC Adapter - Check your settings" when starting LibreELEC.
Why am I writing this into a HDR/Dithering/10bit test thread?
Because the error message seems to be gone in the test release(s). But the HDMI CEC still doesn't seem to work, because my TV stays in idle mode, when I shut down my box. All other boxes are shutting down the TV aswell.
So I wanted to ask: is there anything I could report/test/help, so that we can get the CEC working?
I get that error when there are other active hdmi devices aside from the s905 box connected to my TV, so I just ensure that the only active device is the android box and the other devices are turned off.
Running 8.1.4, my kids use youtube a lot and there is no stuttering on most of the videos they watch. the only stuttering I encounter is those Youtube live videos, not sure why though.
updated from 8.1.3 to 8.1.4, on tx3 pro S905x, no major issues.
