Dear LibreELEC support,
I using LibreELEC 7.0.2 with RPi 2 and the poor audio output from the HDMI output.
In order to improve the quality of sound I purchased the PiFi DAC v2.0. This seems to be a Chinese clone of the HiFiBerry DAC Plus.
I wish to seek your advice on how I can enable the PiFi DAC to work with the RPi 2 and channel the analog audio output to my audio system.
Thank you.
I've got a PiFi Digi and I use dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi and it works well.
I would start out with dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac and see if that works.
Are you on V7.90.008/009 by any chance? If so look Here
not without building with swap supportLibreELEC.tv/options at master · LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub
Ok, Thanks - I'll live with it as it hasn't caused any problems.
Is it possible to activate a swapfile? Not sure if was intentional but there is no swapfile allocated. I know it is not strictly necessary as the Cubox-i has 2G of RAM and LE doesn't get anywhere close under normal conditions.
However, it would be nice to have the option to swap if required.
The host.conf fix by @outclave does work.
As posted here LibreELEC
I had other issues as my NAS is called FileStar and when I pinged filestar I got an 81.x.x.x IP address. adding Filestar to hosts solved the problem.
As I added the NAS via the GUI - I think LE/Kodi should either display the IP of the SMB share or convert it before adding to .kodi/userdata/sources.xml (if not then possibly provide a notification when trying to add a SMB share)
So in the interim.
1) Add NAS to ./config/hosts.conf
2) Add the NAS with explicit IP in the gui smb://<IP address>/<Shared Folder>
3) Edit the ./kodi/userdata/sources.xml
I upgraded to V7.90.009 and the issue was still there, however my NAS is called FILESTAR but if I pinged "filestar" I got an 8.x.x.x. ip address, so DNS seems to be kicking in somewhere.
Adding 192.168.0.43 Filestar to /storage/.config/hosts.conf or adding the videos directly as smb://192.168.0.43/Movies got around the issue.
So it looks like LE is trying to connect via the hostname and not the IP address
Firstly. the "Temperature box", as you call it, is better known as the rainbow box and a sign of under voltage not temperature. I believe a total red box is used for over temperature. I would check your PSU is at least 2.5amp and you have a good quality USB lead.
Are you heat sinks copper or aluminium? As copper is much more efficient.
The idle temperature of 50 degrees is about right, the original RPi was about 45 degrees at idle with a copper heat sink. depending on ambient room temperature.
83 degrees does seem a bit high, so you may need to check what the CPU is doing. If it is going full pelt, then you need to investigate what is using all the processing power.
If all else fails, you could add a small one inch 5v fan and power it off of the 3.3v GPIO pins (This reduces the fan speed and thus noise - if noise is not an issue, then use the 5v pins.) This should reduce the temperature by around 10 degrees.
But first I'd solve the power issue first before worrying about the temperature.
@papandy I've just tried shadertoy - albeit on a RPi2 - and the CPU runs at around 90% idle. I'll try it on a RPi3 (when it become free) and see if there is an issue with the RPi3 but I think there might be another issue on your box. Can you provide a screenshot of "top" (and press 1 to show all the CPU's).
Any chance a package could be made for IMX6? Not urgent but would be nice to monitor RPi and IMX6 with the same tools. TIA
Found this - it might be useful.
Looks like it's related to $TERM.
Currently it's set to "xterm-color". But if I change to "xterm" everything works as expected.
Looks good and seems to function as expected on a RPi3 V7.90.008
I use the creator on Ubuntu 14.04 without issues.
Are you sure you have the correct file (32bit vs 64 bit)?
# cd <Directory where it is installed>
# sudo ./LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Linux-64bit
(And a gui should pop up)
Not sure if this is a bug but I have not encountered this on any Kodi system before.
OE, Xbian etc.
IMX6 v7.90.007
I access my main LE machine on a VERY OLD Mac 10.4 OSX machine (Lion I think but it should be mangy old tabby cat).
I can ssh in successfully and do most things but when I type "top" I get:
top: cannot access the terminfo database
I'm sure this was not a problem on earlier releases. If I try via Android, it is not a problem. It works as expected.
Connecting to other machines and running top is not an issue.
Google seems to point to /usr/share/terminfo but that does not exist.
It's not an issue but would like to resolve.

By the sudden sounds of TABBY's HDD I doubt I'll have the need of a reply
As an update I tried this on a RPi3 and had the same issue (so it's not an IMX6 issue).
Also the IMX6 was using the confluence skin, whereas the RPi3 was using estuary, so I don't think it is skin related - even though some have expressed it works with one but not the other.
Strange.
I could access the share, then I upgraded and could no longer access that share.
Will upgrade again tomorrow and give more debug/
