You could have a look at Emby Here, but you'll need a machine to act as the server. Once that is up and running, all content can be viewed on most types of devices, Kodi, Android, Phones, IOS etc.

I'm not aware of a way to do what you want. The easiest way is to move them out of your main Music folder into another folder and don't assign it as anything, that way it will not be scanned.
Unless you update your folder often, it doesn't really harm having them scanned as they will just error as not found.

@doggyofone Can you provide a photo of your "Fix". I've just got a new Mecool M8S Pro+ and would like to know how to reset the box. LE runs fine off of the SD card but just in case.
It would also help other users.

What happens if you don't provide a NTP server?
-
I think you will be unlikely getting it to work. See Here

Which movies do you think are disappearing? In the log there is a lot of "not found" movies!
Also, what movie scrapper are you using? There seems to be a problem with: ia.media-imdb.com
Open failed with code 404 for ia.media-imdb.com

@astergiou Please do NOT provide text log files in the forum, use the CORRECT method as detailed in my signature.

My mistake: Try 0.us.pool.ntp.org and 1.us.pool.ntp.org as NTP server 2. Then show what difference the time is. Also do you have a RTC installed?
Also try turning off "wake for network"
If still no success , provide a log file (See my sig)

Using the default skin, you need to set the date/time in System (Cogwheel) --> Interface Settings --> Regional

There is a LE Leia alpha built Here if you want to investigate it.
As CoreElec is a fork of LE, I'm pretty sure a LE backup would work - but I haven't tried.
You could also just take /storage/.kodi/userdata/sources.xml which will contain your SMB shares.

This might help - seems to be a similar issue S905X

I remember seeing this years ago on Kodi or possibly XBMC. I think it was related to memory usage and there was a setting that could be set to stop thumbnails being generated whilst being browsed. I'm sure google could help.

No log file - no problem.

There should be no need to create a script now - as the functionality has been included in an LE add-on. See First Post

I've installed 8.2.5 on my RPi1 B without any issues.
What happens if you boot with the Ethernet cable connected?
You could try Raspbian and see if you have the same problem. If so, then it's a HW problem.
As the RPi is quite old, it's possible as Klojum mentioned that it's a HW failure. I have a RPi1 B that reboots if I plug in a new USB device.

It could also be how the Movies, TV shows are named. Naming Convention.
So a file named TheMatrix.mkv will probably fail, whereas The Matrix (1999).mkv will work.
Also with TV Shows add season and episode - Lost (S01E01).mkv
There's also an add-on called Missing Movies that will list all non found Movies and TV Shows.
