You could *TRY* this. It may not work, so use a copy or make a good backup.
Download LE 8.9.003 tar file and place it in /storage/.update. Reboot and it might upgrade.
Otherwise download the img file and start afresh.

You need to post this question to the Aeon Nox developer as we have no control over Kodi skins.
You need to first disable Windows 10 fast boot (aka fast startup or Hiperboot).
Then goto the boot menu - F2 on restart.

Add the LE EFI file as trusted.
Reboot - F2 again, and select boot from USB

Luckily I have a Lenovo media stick 300, which has booted LE 8.2.5 (I haven't tried any alpha builds yet, but they should work just as well). It's a bit of a faff (Under Windoze 10) to get it to boot from the SD card but there are plenty of websites showing how to do it.
Most links to this addon are via the "Fusion" repo, so any support is not offered, as this is a banned Kodi repository.
Does this happen with the *standard* estuary skin?
Can you provide a screenshot as well.
That is certainly not normal. Is it a single processor or all of them?
Is this a clean install or with additional addons?
What is the hardware used?

Firstly I would recommend searching the forum for "ir-remote" there are plenty of discussions.
From experience, the Flirc is the simplest solutions - and from other comments, the one to choose. However, for me, it didn't suit my requirements. So I tried a Harmony (Mine was a "One") but alas IR didn't really give me what I wanted. So I switched to BT and I can now do what I want.
A *BIG* however, is Harmony remotes are well spendy. £120+
Like all things in computing, there are many users with their own experiences, so I would wait a while before making a decision.
