i've burned on SD your LE 9.95.2 and it runs quite fine on my Tanix tx5 pro (s905x)

1- wifi works fine (despite on last CoreElec is not working)

2- BT do not (who cares?)

3- decoder PRIME works, but only via software

4- samba (with windows 8.1 PC) is a nightmare (culprit kodi matrix)

5- only few addons are compatible with kodi matrix

6- (very noob question) i can't "see" any eMMC (so no reboot from internal availabile) (it maybe android 6 of my box?)

That file (t95m-s905x-vfd.conf) works fine on the T95 S1box when running the last CoreELEC 8.95.7.

It doesn't work when running the glorious LibreELEC 8.2.3.1 by Kszaq.

Any hope to get a working vfd.conf for a T95 S1 box?

It has a s905w chip, working LE dtb.img is gxl_p281_1g.dtb

The wird thing is that I can get reached to the folder with kodi file manager.

It seems to me that there is a new "samba.conf.sample" file in the .config folder. Save it as "samba.conf" replacing the old one.

At last (a bit too late) i was able to use my windows 8.1 Samba shares without hitchs !

(LE 8.2 on SD on TX5 Pro TV box - s905x)

The summary of steps needed to LE 8.0->8.2 update for a full working SMB

1-Copy via SMB into dir "Update" the last update tar (or gz) and the proper device tree file

2-Update samba.conf in /storage/.config/ according to jg555 post

3-Create in "storage/.kodi/.smb" a user.conf file according to Nixxor post

4-In Kodi Settings > Services > SMB client > choose SMBv1

In Libreelec go Add Videos -> Browse -> here instead of Windows network (SMB) choose Add network location...

My win 8.1 pc can see the TX5 Pro samba shared folders again with the jg555' s fix (many thanks).

But the TX5 Pro can't see my pc shared files.

Any other useful tip ... or stuck with LE 8.0.2e ?

I've just updated to 8.0.2e (LE on SD) and there isn't any connection to the net (TX5 Pro with QCA9377).

The "connections" tab on LE System addon is blank. Reboot doesn't help.

Any clue before downgrading?

It would be nice to have a way/setting to retrieve internet connection, let's say after 30-60 sec, for not supported wifi chips.

My box with QA9377 needs a restart at every cold boot to go online.
