I just acquired a Pi-desktop from element14. To utilize the power on/off button from the case I need to install a debian package.
As I understand “dpkg” is not available on libreelec. What are my options to install this:

this is a known problem, sadly nobody from us has such an case to add support for it (just some phyton files)
so it should work if someone could create some addon (as said we can't do it due missing hw)

All the other bits are in the OS already

I installed the "Pi tools" addon and tried to make a basic service script as recommended, but somehow keep getting the same error:
"ImportError: No module named RPi.GPIO"
You need to append path like here problem installing "Pi tools" addon
I tried it, but I still get the same error

According to your line 3 from kodi log and your attached script it seems you are still using old script without path append.
