[SOLVED] No Wifi or Bluetooth connections shown on fresh install

Hi,

I've just done a fresh install of 8.1.0 on a HP Pavilion and cannot find a way to connect to either the BT or Wifi. A wired connection does work but no connections are shown in the connection tab of LibreELEC. Is it possible that these adaptors are off by default and need to be enabled?

Please could someone help? I've g00gled this issue for over 3 hours and cannot find any solutions.

Asking the obvious questions first: did you enable the wireless and BT hardware in the LE Settings add-on?

Wireless networks are set to active in LE settings but it states Bluetooth is disabled. Is there a setting I'm missing? Surely these are enabled by default?

Nope. Go into the services tab and enable BT first, then the BT devices screen will be active.

Ok, now it says no Bluetooth adaptor found. I can only assume the same thing is happening with the wifi adaptor. Any ideas? Does it not need drivers to run the adaptors?

it's definitely an issue with 8.1.0 because I rolled back to 8.0.2 and all my wifi connections were there. I see I'm not the only one this issue too:

It appears some firmware went missing among the firmware repo cleanup's we've done. However, nobody has PR'd a change to re-add that firmware to the 8.2 and master branches on github yet, so the issue is not solved.
