LibreElec and SSH using Keys instead of Default Username / Password

Gday All,

Firstly, thankyou all to the LibreElec Team. My sytem has been running like a dream lately. Much appreciated!

Im hoping to use PuttyGen to generate some keys (Type=RSA) to use with my Libreelec for SSH.

Question is, Once ive saved my Public and Private Keys on my windows machine....

Where do i copy them to in Libreelec's file system ?

Try the (hidden) ~/.ssh folder on the LE box when storing the public key.

i was searching the whole drive - but didnt realise it (.ssh) was a hidden folder.

Do a ls -al in a SSH session if you want to see all folders and files in the current directory.

Also , the Public Key that puttygen created has no file extension.

Is that correct?

I see my private key has a .ppk extension.

Try the ssh-keygen command during a LibreELEC SSH session.

I never used the puttygen thingy.

I was just readinf the openelec doco on ssh-keygen.
