[SOLVED] MCE remote works with WP1 and WC but not WP2 on 8.0.2

I have a MCE remote (AVS Gear HA-IR01SV) on this list in the wiki and the wife is used to using it.

It works on the wetek play and core running 8.02 but not the wetek play 2. There is a method linked on the wiki describing how to get it to work but I was wondering why it works on the play and core but not the play 2, all running 8.02.

This was fixed by updating to 8.1.0 and TURNING ON the lirc daemon.
