Refresh rate BOXNUC6CAYH attached to Vizio M65-E0

  • I am just making the jump to 4k. I have a boxnuc6cayh that has all firmware and bios updates done and has Escalades community build on it. I also just purchased a new Denon avr-x2300w receiver and a a Vizio M65-E0. Inside the Kodi gui I am only getting the option of 4k 3840X2160 @ 30hz when I run xrandr I do not get the 60 option either. 3840x2160 30.00*+ 24.00 29.97 23.98. I have tried going from the nuc straight to the TV and through the receiver as well. Full UHD color is turned on inside the Vizio TV and I have brand new HDMI cables from Sams Club.

Any ideas of how I can get the gui to work at 60hz or is this normally not possible unless actually playing video? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

  • I have another computer with windows 10 and an nvidia gtx960 video card that I hooked up to the tv and it was able to switch to the 60hz refresh rate without any issues. Not sure if this is just a nuc issue or a libreelec issue. Guess my next step would be to put windows in the nuc and see if I can switch to the 60hz refresh rate.

If I just leave the gui at a 1080p @60 refresh rate will the tv still upscale 1080p to 2160p?

If you fixate Kodi's output to 1080p, sure the TV needs to upscale to 4K. Either that, or you probably get a tiny 1080p in the middle of your TV display.
