viewing dvb results in sudden shutdown [solved]

Greetings,

I'm running LE 8.0.2 on a rpi2 setup with a activity powered usb hub with a Mygica T230 DVB-T/T2/C usb revciver.

I've setup the tvheadend and I get reception. the problem is that when I try to view the feeds from within kodi (I've installed the proper iptv client), the setup shuts down suddenly.

one stream plays in the window but causes the shutdown when I switch to full screen.

another causes the shutdown when I select it to view.

when testing the device on my desktop I got it to work with a different tuner fw )the md5sum differed=, so I tried to add them to /storage/.config/firmware but it still crashes

I'll post logs from the dmesg later today.

does anyone know by any chance what can cause this behavior?

issue solved.

the device heats up when in use, not that hot but as mentioned above it is hooked up to a externally powered usb hub which seems to heats up too.

so both heating up probably caused the device to pass his max temp operation and caused it to malfunction to the point it caused the system to shutdown.

I've hooked the tuner directly to the rpi2 and all works great.
