Backup SD card before write image

Hello guys,

I have a Raspberry Pi 2 with an old kodi.tv version.

I'd like to update it, but I'd also like to make a previous backup of my sd card data with this old kodi.tv.

I've seen LibreELEC USB-SD Creator only writes an image to the sd card.

Do you know/recommend another app to do a backup (in an img or similar format) of the sd data?

To be used in windows or ubuntu.

There is Win32diskimager which also allows making backup copies of SD cards.

In Ubuntu there is also the 'dd' command for the more experienced Linux user.

Make a backup from the LE settings add-on inside Kodi then copy it off box for safe keeping ~ in most cases the backup file will be smaller (and thus quicker to create) than imaging the entire SD card. It also doesn't require any extra software and a future restore will be quicker too.
