[split] LibreELEC-RPi.arm-8.0.1 total noob

I'm having a very similar problem when I install libreelec 8.0.1 on a Rasperry Pi Zero W or a B+. I'm a noob at this but when i go to install from zip, I get no notification that the source installed (notifications are in fact turned on). Instead, I get the "currently downloading add on" box appear but when I go into it, it's empty. I can then see the source available but when i try to install from Repo, the blue progress wheel just spins and spins. I have to reboot it in order to be able to install from the repo. The interesting thing is that the rpi3 works just fine. Has anyone else has this problem with a zero w and libreelec 8.0.1?
