So I was sort of surprised but my internet connection went down while I was watching a movie on my share drive and I was unable to watch anything until the internet came back up. I was expecting to be able to still watch files off my File server. Does LibreElec have to have an internet connection to play movies?
Probably a Stupid Question but usage of LibreELEC without internet

Unless your shared drive is outside of your local network, LE shouldn't care and should carry on playing without interrupts. Possibly your router may have limited the access.
Try enabling debug, play a movie from the share, unplug the external internet connection from you router and post the output from cat /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log|paste if you have issues.

I've just installed an LE8 box for a friend that has all their movies on the local disk and no internet connection to the box. It works fine.
