Kodi won't turn on using CEC

    I am using my sony remote to remote rasp. kodi. I have Hdmi cec and usb with separate power supply. Now when turn on tv raspberry pi won't turn on. I need to unplug it and plug again.
    Last week I used power supply from tv using usb. That worked great.

    Is there a way to make it work?

    Raspberry Pi doesn't support poweroff/wakeup. You have to have it running all the time.

    You can disable it powering off in the cec peripheral menu.

    You are wrong. It worked to turn it on and off using sony remote. When tv went ON also pi went ON. BUt then I had pi connected with usb to tv. Now I have separate power supply.
    In that case I need to buy a longer usb and connect it back to tv.

    I guess what you were doing there was turning the tv off, which cut power to the usb port. About the worst way to turn a pi on and off that doesn't involve using a hammer.
