Setting up LEMP server and Nextcloud

  • Hello peoples. I'm a notice hack with *Nix. My goal is to put together a write up for installing Nextcloud on your libreelec.

I'm running libreelec on 2 devices: an Odroid c2 &
an old ACER 1600R x86 . (It runs very fast on it btw)
I've been playing with the idea of installing LEMP to run NextCloud on it. Nextcloud is the fork to Owncloud

I found these instructions over at How to Install Nextcloud on Debian/Ubuntu | 2daygeek

I haven't tried messing with it yet. I wanted to see if anyone else has, before I jump into it.
Has anyone else played around with installing LEMP on Libreelec?
I see that vpeter put a LAMP build together thread-280.html

But if I recall LEMP runs faster on small/under powered boxes and that seems to fit into the small light weight that libreelec model.
    Pls post thoughts/comments/experiences here.

    Cheers.~~~

  • After playing around with the code, I decided to go another route for my server.
The reason Libreelec is so fast, is that they removed everything not needed. I almost tossed my Acer 1600r, but installed Libreelec on it, and it is screamingly fast.
For my server, I found Diet Pi it's pretty bare bones too. With loads of quick installs.
