[RPi4] Mirror audio output to network

    Hi,

    I'm using Librelec on a RPI4 to play radio streams. I'd like to somehow mirror whatever goes out on the auxiliary to the speakers also on the network - ie through some software or another to open up a tcp port on the RPi so I can connect to it and listen to whatever this box plays on any other network-enabled speaker or device. Hope I make sense.


    Any pointers on how to achieve this?

    MPD is pretty much the gold standard for this.

    Raspberry Pi 4 + LibreElec + Music Player Daemon + WavPack DSD

    I installed LibreElec 9.95.1 and mpd (as service addon) and found that when playing WavPack DSD files with a samplerate of more than 384 kHz, the sound is very interrupted. A search on the Internet did not give anything, the mpd settings also did not bring any result. And then I accidentally looked into:

    mpd -V

    ­— and found that it was built without native support for the WavPack format, that is, it decodes it using ffmpeg. And ffmpeg DOES NOT RECOGNIZE DSD compressed with WavPack.

    No, I need that whatever is played by Kodi (usually some internet radio, but sometimes a youtube playlist) to also be mirrorred/broadcasted/proxied onto the network via some protocol or another so I can pick it up with vlc/mplayer/etc on other machines.
