[x86-64] weird colors after update to LibreELEC 12 from 11

  • Hi,

a little late to the party I just updated to the latest generic image.

While rebooting I already noticed that the colors of the splash logo seemed slightly off and getting to the ui the whole screen is flashed in rainbow-like color.

I'm running it on an older ThinkPad T410 (Intel Nehalem) connected to a Benq Beamer via DP→HDMI.

As I'm not very experienced with LE any help and guidance is really appreciated, thanks!

  • The "normal" problem with projectors is limited-range vs full-range colourspace, but the "flashed in rainbow-like colour" description doesn't fit the normal comment of colours looking a bit washed out. So assuming you have removed and reseated cables, to triage anything you need to provide some pictures and tell us what the projector indicates is being sent on the HDMI connection, e.g. the resolution, bi-depth, colourspace, etc. - and put Kodi into debug mode with a current LE13 nightly image and run "pastekodi" then share the log URL. The log probably won't tell us anything useful (same as the mode output you shared) but you never know.

  • Thanks for your answers!

I 'll try your suggestions (fresh/legacy/nightly install and debug mode + pastekodi) and also will try to take some pictures.

What I already done in the meantime is to also try it at my desk monitor (ThinkVision P27q-10). The problem also occurs there regardless of the connection type (tried DisplayPort->HDMI and DisplayPort directly).
