tvheadend on libreelec 12.2.1

  • I am comparing tvheadend server (4.3-2528) addon on libreelec and tvheadend (4.3-2471) on raspberry os trixie version. libreelec one works with TVHplayer, but can't start live tv player and got broken images in web ui. trixie package can start live tv player and has no broken images, but breaks tvhplayer 3.5, has unstable channel list and tends to refuse connection or crash.

Any reason why libreelec version can't start live tv player in webui and got broken imagecache image links? Tried turning on imagecache after seeing broken url. No difference.

Trying to start live tv player resets other active streams (for example kodi tv client stops playing same or other channel on tv). Setup allows parallel streams as I can run different channels on VLC and tvhplayer at the same time.

If I have to enable debug or dig some logs, it can be done.

libreelec is setup on raspberry pi4 and dtb tv hat

trixie is on rpi5, pironman 5 nvme and dtb tv hat. tvhplayer just needed plain authentication support in tvheadend to work.

  • This is unlikely to be an LE issue as we're not doing anything more than packaging Tvheadend. It is possible that differences in the two versions are due to changes in Tvheadend itself. It's also possible that the issue resides in the browser.

I'm wondering if this is the same as https://tvheadend.org/d/9323-recordings-dont-play-anymore/8 ?

NB: Although there are quite a few Tvheadend users around here the best place to report and debug Tvheadend problems is normally the Tvheadend forum.

  • Trixie version does not link to imagecache/12 image. That ticket is for Chrome. I am normally on Firefox and Chromium is only alternative browser. That ticket is probably about "Play" button in broadcast details. It generates m3u8 playlist in Firefox and tries to play in browser on Chromium. My problem is about "Watch TV" launched from top right menu in web ui.

I guess I'll wait to see if situation improves over time. Maybe Android client support and integration with Jellyfin improve.
