Hello, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but im struggling trying to figure out how to get a driver for this device running on ubuntu. I found my way here https://github.com/LibreELEC/media_build which is supposed to be a method for building drivers for these tv tuners. But this repo seems ancient and I'm wondering if there is an easier way to get drivers for these devices? Thanks!

It wouldn't work on anything other than Android.

Google searching shows absolutely zero technical information about the device or the chipset(s) inside it (the details that matter most) so it's not going to be supported on Linux, and media_build is not going to magically change that.

I suspected that this device might not be compatible. Thanks for the help and for saving me time trying to get this working. Do you guys have any suggestions for cheap usb tuners that are easy to get working on linux? I've been looking at the lists on linuxtv.org, but that site seems to be a bit stale.

Hauppague are a reputable manufacturer with good upstream kernel support, and Sundtek have well supported userspace drivers that don't depend on the kernel, which makes life easier. I can't speak for whether they are cheap or not, but they should work with LE well. If you go cheap, you're more likely to need a separate device for the server that can run a specific distro/kernel someone hacked up the drivers for, instead of using LE.
