Forced Subtitles Not Working - RPi4 Nightly

    I rip my own DVDs and Blu-Rays for use on our RPi4 media player.

    For quite a while now subtitles are not showing up when they are marked as forced in mkvtoolnix.

    I haven't changed my process for ripping discs and always keep any software up to date.

    The subtitles work fine when manually enabled.

    Has anyone else seen this happening? It's been an issue for at least a couple of months but I didn't flag it as I didn't know where the fault was.

    It sounds like the default behaviour of some types of subtitle has changed.

    It's not clear to me whether this is a regression, or a correction to behaviour.

    Might be worth finding a nightly from just before and just after that PR went in, to confirm if that was the cause of the change you see.
