RPI5 - clone screen to both hdmi output

  • Hello,

i have read a lot of stuf in terms of this topic but seems to me they are aut of date. So i would like to ask if the support of output to both hdmi is supported out of the box or not? Maybe some configuration or i do something wrong ...

I have a rpi5 with libreec, when a system is booting i see a view on the both displays (libreelec logo) but when boot is complete the hdm0 is showing a KODI but second /hdmi1 monitor is blank. I have checked the menu and option blank other displays is off.

Is there any chance to clone the view to both displays, the same resolution ? I tried to connect both displays to hdmi0 and it works (to check if they support the same resolution full HD@60 and test passed).

Last chance is to buy HDMI splitter but i would like to figure out hdmi1 if possible. Thanks for advices.

RPi4/5 hardware supports use of both HDMI outputs on a conventional distro that uses X11 or Wayland. In that scenario Kodi runs as a full-screen app and you can select the single display to use, but Kodi does not support dual-output (mirrored output) and AFAIK this is true for all OS, not just Linux. In LE, Kodi runs 'on the framebuffer' with no window manager so we only support output to a single display device. TL/DR: Not possible, you need to use an external splitter.
