[RPi] MacOS Sequoia Can't Connect to RPi

  • Hi, I'm an Apple sheep and I'm having a problem connecting from MacBook to Raspberry.
Everything worked fine for me on previous systems (until Monterey).
    Now in Sequoia:
From Mac to Raspberry everything is still ok - I can connect and copy both ways.
But from Raspberry to Sequoia - I can't connect anymore.
In LibreELEC I tried different combinations of SMB 1-3.
Searched the web and found nothing.
MacBook with Sequoia. Raspberry Pi 4, LibreELEC 12, Kodi 21.

    Thank you for your help.

  • hello ,

just tried this on an old mac with sequoia patched<

there is issue with connecting over smb from mac to libreelec.

as a workaround, you could try the following>

    1. first try to access by clicking on network icon / libreelec / (connect as) / insert username/password *eg. root/libreelec

(sequoia mac will probably fail to access)

    2. now use workaround / in finder/ GO / connect to server / (insert adress) / smb://libreELEC.local (it should no longer ask for password but open dialogue window asking you which folder you wanna connect to.

  • NB: The default SMB password is libreelec/libreelec not root/libreelec

Just do "command + k" in Finder and provide the smb://NAME/SHARE you want to access, or at least smb://NAME and it will then prompt for credentials and list the available shares.

  • even if i would use password (libreelec/libreelec) it would not function for smb://libreelec.local

however, the workaround would function for smb://libreELEC.local if previous tried access for (root/libreelec)

maybe i just got the settings wrong, but have firewall deactivtad, tried this one macos sequoia ] and ventura.

  • All I did was enable SMB (as normally I have it disabled) and either clicking on the now-visible device in Finder>Network or doing the command+k to give an explicit address using <name> (not <name>.local) worked fine.
